Cadian Spectre Squad done! I've had them sitting around mostly done since writing a review for TabletopBattles back in April, but now they're finally finished! My favorite details are the radio woman and navigators' heads, which seem like they're based on The Boss and Old Snake from the Metal Gear Solid series. The cloaks even remind me of Boss' cape/poncho thing too. Also note the plasma gunner's mug at the end, which I painted like my Canopy Cat Rescue mug! This was a great kit, and while it was a lot of work for 10 guardsmen, they're bursting with character. Thanks to Games Workshop or the review models, even if it was a minute ago.
First game of 11th edition with my usual sparring partner. I guess one of us had acclimatized to the new rules faster than the other lol...
The craziest thing about the points-update however is that the Ork Stompa might actually be a competititvely viable thing. They cut it down from 800 to 600 points, but while that is a clear buff that is not the main reason.
It has the TITANIC keyword. That means it gets Plunging Fire (shooting from height advantage) against close (12'') targets. That is +1 on the Ballstic Skill. This stacks with the buff from the Mek character who gives +1 to hit. So all of THIS
hits on a Bs 3+. And you can buff it with Dreadmob abilities and stratagems.
This looks genuinely scary...

Edition changes really have the entire playerbase acting like the crowd on the stock market after a turbulent weekend, except number down is good and up is bad.

But T'au still is a winner in the changes due to how they point some wargear now. Burst-Crisis suddenly just 90p per squad is one example (but if you want full flamers it costs 30 more but really why would you do that). Fireknife Crisis with Missiles are paying extra, but in my configuration Plasma was the better pick and that one is cheaper now.
I was thinking of sticking with my Nightmare Hunt now that battleshock got buffed but my Tau list sure are looking good right now...
Meanwhile I will not touch my GSC until the Codex drops. What are those Muscle Beach nerfs? O_o

Possibly this is looking really good for Kroot Carnivores. 20-Stacks with Stealth right now cost 130 each. If that goes down to 110 suddenly there's OPTIONS... But as I said, zero trust for all things Tau balance right now.
