Recently received my special edition boxed set of 'The Nevernight Chronicles' from LitJoy, and holy shit are these books gorgeous. This set includes all three books: 'Nevernight', 'Godsgrave', and 'Darkdawn' with new cover art, 15 tip-in illustrations, illustrated author signature pages (signed by Jay Kristoff), a personalized letter to LitJoy customers in 'Nevernight', a bonus chapter in 'Godsgrave', 3 bonus chapters in 'Darkdawn', custom designed page edges, original manuscript maps in each book (in full color), and over 600 annotations and drawings by the author. Darkdawn is the final book in the Nevernight Chronicles trilogy. “Mia Corvere is on the run. She has killed Cardinal Duomo and Consul Scaeva and taken her brother to flee the Luminatii and the Blades. But she finds out Scaeva is not dead. Now she must travel across the republic for one last stand-off and seek the answer to who she is.” How does one person have an entire world like that in his head? 😮 Mia is battered about but she keeps fighting. You realize you’re cheering for an assassin but the one she’s after is evil. You find out who wrote the first two books here. I like how Kristoff uses them as a plot point. The final scenes with Cleo and Scaeva and Mia are full of insane action. It has you racing through the final pages. And the way Mia uses her shadows 😳 Kristoff says he doesn’t believe in happy endings but l can live with this one.
