I would love to see a subplot where Lenore to pass as a man inadvertently makes more and more vulgar comments and behaves unecessarily cheeky, which upsets Annabel. Annabel hesitates: being pragmatic she understands that the less people doubt "Leo's" masculinity the safer it is, but as a person, a woman first of all, she is obviously uncomfortable with her friend who has taken on the role of her knight behaving in the same way as the dragons. So what makes marrying 'Leo' any better than marrying Wesley, who has the guts to defend Annabel's honor in public or even marrying Percy, who doesn't have the guts to say a single bad word about Annabel in the first place? "Oh well you see Lenore will certainly be sincere and respectful in private!" Aha. So sweet in private. So nasty in public. Hmm it rings a bell.

What a parallel that would be! We all love it when the story contrasts the chemistry of our girls before and after death, when we see the details that changed their dynamics, and we realize that Annabel's behavior is just a reflection of what 'Leo' taught her.

The problem is. As good as it sounds. I don't really believe it will happen. All the questionable actions and annoying traits that Lenore had before are either ignored or retconned in the second season. No she definitely didn't kill anyone in that fire in fact she risked her limited time to protect the servants who treated her like a wild animal! No none of misfits think Lenore abandoned them by making an empty promise and even if someone does they won't be able to directly accuse her of it when she wakes up because their friend was on the verge of death so they have no choice but to be nice! etc etc

This scene would have annoyed me much less if I could have been sure the duality of this behavior would be criticized within the story in the future. You know, would have some consequences. But so far Lenore has not been held accountable for her mistakes so why should I believe that Annabel will judge her for this attitude now?
