This shoot was nothing short of epic. ✨Thank you @kyt_in_nyc, @Rey bee, @anne.a.sullivan and @chantalnightingale And most of all, thank you @petermurphyofficial for your gift of music, your warmth, kindness and for being so easy and enjoyable to work with. 🖤 *** The first time I heard Bauhaus was at a party in Toledo, Ohio when I was 16-years old. I recently had connected with the Toledo punk rock scene. One night my best friend and I were at some sort of New Wave party and were surprised that the punk rock kids were also in attendance. We had no idea they also listened to bands like New Order, The Cure, and Depeche Mode. We just didn’t know. A catchy song played. We thought we were hearing, “Melody Rose is dead”…we liked it. A lot. I don’t recall specifically how I finally figured it out. I likely asked one of the clerks at one of the independent record stores we frequently visited. Upon being properly introduced to the music of Bauhaus I began to slowly collect their music on vinyl (which is still in my possession by the way—not much of my vinyl remains, but I do have all of my Bauhaus records AND Skinny Puppy; for the record. No pun intended. 😉☺️) Readers of Go Ask Ogre know that I wasn’t sure I would make it past my 16-years…and 16-year old Jolene definitely never envisioned herself on a hotel balcony in New York City, photographing someone whose music formed her and kept her afloat. I am grateful and honored. I will never take these moments for granted. Ever.✨ #undead #petermurphy #bauhaus #godfatherofgoth #neverjaded #coverstory #stompandstammer #nycphotographer (at New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B3Fag1cF624/?igshid=q8njwq8rimpl
