sometimes i think about neve at the heart of the blight eruption in minrathous, not only unable to show up for the city and people she loves, but the power she used to protect being twisted to destroy. the venatori must have known it was her; they must have sneered with triumph that the thorn in their side was now their puppet to dominate the city as they pleased. even when she gets out, she's badly blighted with an uncertain future.

but neve gallus, the cynical detective who cares so deeply and calls herself a sucker for it, who fights for a better minrathous and feels like the city itself stabs her in the back, restored much of lucanis dellamorte's faith in people. he wants to give her the world she deserves. if he is there when she is rescued he will immediately prioritize her. she's blighted to hell and back and he's just relieved because he thought he lost her. he wants to give her everything she needs and tear out elgar'nan's heart. lucanis truly does love neve so dearly and i'm never going to be normal about it
