This may be a hot take but every single post I see trashing modern trad goth is so performative to me. Let people dress how they want. Personally, I like it, and want to mix it with 80s goth (which is probs my favorite substyle), and if I didn't then honestly who cares? Not all people who dress in modern trad support fast fashion. Most I've seen do not. Most I've seen speak up about important political issues. If you aren't seeing this, then you're the one who isn't interacting with the right group of people. And also not everyone who's goth has to be a musician?? And if they are, you realize they don't have to make goth music right?? You can enjoy other genres. You can be goth without being a musician. I don't know why you'd assume you have to be or where this take even came from. So what if it's not the same as authentic 80s looks?? Subcultures evolve. If they like it, they like it. They aren't posers for enjoying a different (and still very much gothic) style. I never see this happen to other substyles, and I'm not sure if these people have an issue specifically with modern trad or if it's just cause it's the most popular, but I think it's a pretty shallow take to generalize that these people are posers because they dress differently than you. In the kindest way possible, go touch grass.

- The Bacchae by Euripides (p p peak will forever recommend).

I'm planning to read more ancient literature soon, specifically Greek. Also, in regards to literature, my favorite poet is Poe.

Why did my mom all of a sudden remember to tell me about shaving my body hair?? I was so thankful she dropped it because I honestly don't give a shit if it looks repelling or gross because everybody has it. How is it unhygienic on women but not on men?? You can shave if you'd like and I do from time to time but I'm so much more confident and at ease now. If it's about hygiene, then I do shave areas that are more prone to sweat, and if it's about looks, I shave my unibrow because I don't think it suits me much (and I have thought about shaving off/bleaching my eyebrows completely in the future). That's about it. Please bro just let me live if someone wants to talk then they're shallow because we have bigger fish to fry than my forearm hair.

Why do people keep trying to get others to say the n-word just cause they're African? Like, you realize not all Black people are Africans, and not all Africans are Black, no? It's just such an odd and off-putting thing to randomly drop mid-convo. Especially when it's a "woke" friend. You should know better than this. You do know better than this. It's equally as bad when a non-Black person of color, regardless of their race/ethnicity, says the n-word as it is when a White person does. It's a slur that was made to degrade, humiliate, ostracize and oppress a group of people of which you are no part of. It's not something you can reclaim, and neither can I. I shouldn't have to explain this to you, but since it's apparently not common sense:

No. I can't say it, babe. I'm from the north, and while, yes, Black North Africans exist, I individually am not one of them, and generally, they aren't the majority, as apposed to the countries south of the Sahara. We (anyone who isn't Black) have no right saying it, regardless of whether or not we're people of color. Because, guess what? We aren't the ones who were enslaved, lynched, brutally murdered, disregarded and erased on the basis of being Black. We aren't the ones this word was used to justify aggression towards and alienate. If you're so obsessed with slurs, I promise we get called a handful that you can reclaim, so take your goddamn pick. But I beg you, for the love of everything good, stay away from the n-word.
