do you animate frame by frame or duplicate the frames and edit from there? Also, what app do you use?
hi! i animate frame by frame when i can, i prefer the look!
most often if i duplicate frames it's just for line boil so i'm copying a couple traces of the same frame to make a still object look more alive
as for program, my most comfortable software for animation is Macromedia Flash Professional 8, but due to its limitations i usually use it for animations that don't need any color. however 90% of the time i do my scuffed storyboard on this! flash is my first true love 😍
for more polished-looking animations, aka anything that just needs color, i use Clip Studio Paint EX. my workflow is a bit clunkier there, but that also just comes with adding any detail to animations haha, not necessarily CSP's fault (but the way the onion skin works kinda pmo smtimes)
i do any editing and effects and whatever extra thing i need in Adobe Premiere. if it's simple enough i'll just use Sony Vegas 14 (my editing first true love)
a few of the earliest colored animations i posted here were made using my ancient method of sketching/drawing/coloring the frames in Paint Tool Sai, exporting each frame individually, and editing it all together in Vegas. i literally had CSP but i was too lazy to look up how to animate on there at the time 😭😭 genuinely just made it harder for myself LMAO
i'm still practicing using Alight Motion hehe, i really like the end product but it's kinda buggy sometimes and super tedious having to tap everything, really wish there was a PC counterpart xD ik that's spoiled of me
i also used to use FlipaClip for little on-the-go projects, but the limitations frustrate me so i haven't touched it in a couple years
this is def more information than u needed but i like ranting so hi 😆
also sorry that this is a month late but trust me, i'm gonna answer way older ones... u got it good
