Tried sketching some scenes from Heroes and other Scoundrels and... I guess I managed to write something that doesn't lend itself to singular scenes.
And comics are definitely out of my skilllevel

*Xal'atath, Turalyon, and Neltharion sneak into Ysera's house. All three open her bedroom door.*
Xal'atath, Turalyon, Neltharion: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
*Ysera screams and fires her guns, then unleashes her green mist breath weapon. Turalyon, Neltharion, and Xal'atath flee the house.*
Ysera: Best birthday ever!
The way I write Neltharion I might have invented a new character type: Deadpan Bubbler... Like the unholy union of a deadpan snarker and a bubbly motormouth.
You're welcome, fandom
I had a thought:
Do some dracthyr experience abandonment trauma and/or have an anxious attachment due to the whole being put into stasis and forgotten for 20 000 years? Especially considering some dracthyr consider(ed) Neltharion their father.
Bc I theorize my evoker does - gonna give her a spicy memory (ptsd) for my fic
(because it's SO EASY to write - thanks lived experience!)

Chapter 16: Do What Needs Doing Nozdormu has a long, confusing and quite unsettling dream with a quite curious outcome, while Persephonia tries to get to the tavern.
-
And we're back on track. After having no update after the extra-long chapter before, we are now back at the tavern. I'm really putting Nozdormu into situations in this.
As always, leave comments if you enjoyed what you read <3

Since playing WoW and maining an evoker, ive been obsessed with the dracthyr and their story. To the point where I have curated a Playlist for my evoker, thought of countless illustrations I could create, I have 3k words written going deeper into their lore and story.
The amount of angst I've pulled is JUICY
Example:
Dante accidently sending my evoker back in time to when she woke up. Lets say he accidently went further: before she woke up. Before she was put into stasis with the other dracthyr.
"We cannot stay here"
"When are we?"
"We risk changing the future we have to return to the present"
"No, I need to find- i can change our future, the future of dracthyr"
She starts to leap off the ledge but Dante forces her back into the portal. Back to the present. Shes screaming at him- how dare he? She had the opportunity right there to change her past, change her future so she doesnt wake up alone with her friends dead. She could've done something to prevent Neltharion's madness! (Prob not but its fun to imagine the lengths my dracthyr would go)
-
And then when I was running the Azure Vault dungeon with Telash, (this is running alongside my ocxkalecgos fic) i imagined maybe telash and my evoker had a thing in the past. Telash, distrusting of the blue dragons and their flight, is big big upset at my evoker for "choosing" to side with the enemy and going as far as being romantically involved with one of them.
Then it's just absolutely tragic when she realizes she has to kill him. She already had to deal with so many of the other dracthyr being dead when she woke. Now she loses another friend? UGHH

When putting Sindragosa and Malygos' essences to rest, we see the memory of Neltharion. And hes labeled the betrayer. I imagined my evoker seeing him, her creator, someone she looked up to and lived for. Just tugged on the feels. She stares up at the still memory and reaches a gentle hand up, it phasing through. She wonders what had become of him. Why he would do such heinous acts. What he went through to do such things to the very people he swore to protect and created the dracthry for!
(Also alongside my fic)
Kalecgos notices her staring, and while Senegos and Stellagosa are talking, he steps over to her. Gently asks if shes okay. She hesitates, not looking away from her creator as emotion fills her chest.
She feels abandoned by Neltharion.

Ive joined the lore subreddit and ive always wondered how neltharion made the dracthyr and how they were named. I like the theory that he infused eggs and raised them/had other black dragons raise abd train them. I like to believe that he did care about his creations enough to name each one. But idk maybe this is me just trying to add more humanity to him than is deserving. I just dont think he was bad when he made the dracthyr. I think the dracthyr would see him similar to a father figure. I also just think a baby dracthyr would be so cute and kinda silly looking 😭
Anyway the Playlist is ANGST, daddy issues, and existential dread lol
Heroes and other Scoundrels: Chapter 14: Gotta get it Home
Thoughts are sorted, plans are made, things are revealed. Malygos and Neltharion have a decently good time, but roughly two decades later, Wrathion and Sabellian do not.
Heroes and other Scoundrels - Chapter 13: Ramblin' Rovers
All across the board our friends are being plagued by stray memories and strange dreams, that might one day hold the answer to the looming threat.

Happy New Year, everyone <3
