2017 in review: (one week late)
@heckofabecca: can this count as the 5 things I like about myself? :D
This isn’t about making anyone feel they’re not doing enough with their life-trust me, I live on that hill. This is about reminding myself that every moment in life counts, and all the victories matter. To remind my anxiety that, in spite all of its best efforts, in spite of every crappy thing out there, it was a good year. I’m 24, and I got myself further along than where I was a year ago. I didn’t change the world, but I kept moving. I did the things. They matter. And it can go suck it.
So, life goals achieved :D
Ran a 5k in the Athens Authentic Marathon (just the one, but it counts, right?)
Submitted PhD applications to universities I’ve been daydreaming about since I was 10 (probably won’t get in, but I did my part. I got this far.)
Visited Tuscany, and it was beautiful. And hot. Seriously, I’m Greek, I know hot, and that was HOT. Spring, next-time :D
Got paid for my writing! (about science, no less. I’m quite proud of this being the first money I’ve earned, tbh :D)
Hosted my first dinner with friends! My specialty, colourful thai chicken with bell peppers with a rice-curry side dish (courtesy of a friend) and brandy and cinnamon soaked oranges for desert :D
This isn’t mine, but I’ve waited for a long time, so it goes on here: Philip Pullman finally released the first volume of the Book of Dust and it was great read.
Maybe, just maybe, managed to finally, really, actually realise that I need to be kinder to myself. It’s a work in progress.
She used to be mine, Sara Bareilles
