lord, discord was not meant for me, by which i mean the servers, although general discord is also not meant for me
i have no one to really discuss this fandom with, so i joined a server for it. as you do. but ... i just. i just donât understand how to talk with people, or, more accurately, i (over)react badly when i believe this to be the case. i feel that i keep killing the conversation, which seriously gets me down, but, conversely, sometimes, i feel that iâm contributing to the conversation, which ... seriously cheers me up. itâs always those two extremes (and both are extremes, my feelings rarely ever run this wild); neither of them feel safe. i donât know if i should completely disengage, only lurk, or persistently try anyway ... is it a matter of acclimatisation? my high school and uni experiences point to no! but what if it is? is being a hermit saferâor just easier?
you know, iâve been writing those TYK/SHL comparisons as a way to process my feelings regarding the show, and sort them out into categories of âthings iâm genuinely upset aboutâ vs âthings that i only see as flaws because my overall impression was badâ and... im only about halfway through The List but uh. itâs beginning to look like the overall conclusion will be 'i could make peace with everything aside from wenzhouâs dynamic getting butcheredâ

unpopular opinion but like. the dragons leaving to hide under the sea never made sense for the movie universe and ! using the âthere were dragons when i was a boyâ line was just a cheap shot used to make people emotional instead of developing something deep. and i am so gut tired of content lately just.... failing to give a fully engaging story and relying on people already loving the characters to give emotion.
