apparently the biopsy order that the hospital received has been sitting on someone's desk for a week because she's on vacation and won't be back until Monday. presumably when she returns she can process it and we can finally SCHEDULE the fucking biopsy!!
lean staffing 🔪🔪🔪🔪 i hate capitalism and for profit healthcare so fucking bad i could scream. did you know when you tell someone that multiple levels of tests have failed to rule out cancer, she might want to know sooner rather than later when she'll even be able to get tested to find out if she has it??????? but nah no rush let's have no one cover for the person who apparently handles all the referrals for the entire fucking hospital!!
when getting SCHEDULED for the fucking diagnostic biopsy is like pulling teeth, what must actual cancer treatment be like?
if she needs it atp she might go to a different place bc of how badly this one has handled the process of SCHEDULING one fucking test.
and if it does come to that i asked her to consider letting me call to register a complaint and explain why she won't be working with them.
ik all American healthcare is like this unless you're obscenely wealthy but god. you gotta complain sometimes just to insist on your own dignity. i fucking hate capitalism so much
through all this she also got ghosted by two different "nurse navigators" assigned to her whose JOB is to help w this process. I'm just disgusted.
