Deep-fried and served with sweet chilli sauce. $9.50 - GANG KEOW WAN ( Green Curry ): Famous Thai green curry simmered in aromatic coconut cream, kaffir lime leaves, basil and vegetables. INVITED // Our delicious dinner from Miky’s Italian @mikysitalian in Nedlands. We had the following: - WAGYU TAGLIATA $45: 300 grm local Margaret River wagyu beef mb 8/9, roasted potatoes, red wine jus - Pasta: CRAB $36: home-made tagliatelle, blue swimmer crab, fresh tomatoes, parsley, chilli - Pizza: FOUR CHEESE $27: Mozzarella, blue cheese, pecorino, parmesan cheese - BUTTERFLY TIGER PRAWNS $25: wood-grilled whole shark Bay prawns, crustaceans bisque, lemon - BURRATA $24: italian burrata, diced tomatoes, pizza fritta - GARLIC FOCACCIA $13: wood-fired garlic focaccia, oregano, salt, pepper - TIRAMISU $14: Home-made traditional mascarpone cream with sponge finger soaked in Alexandria Italian coffee Everything was delicious and my favourites of the night were the wagyu which was medium rare and melt-in-the-mouth - it wasn’t bloody at all and the roasted potatoes were very crispy (Red wine jus is on the sweeter side), flavoursome crab pasta and four cheese pizza. Pizza was thin, crisp, airy and fluffy - I don’t really like blue cheese on its own but could not help eating slices of this pizza - the sharpness of the blue cheese combined with the other cheeses resulted in a very flavoursome & addictive pizza. Burrata was very unique with pizza fritta and I loved this too. The crustacean bisque that came with the butterfly tiger prawns was very strong in flavour - could taste that prawn heads and shells were used to create this intense flavour explosion. Ended the night with the creamy tiramisu and a lovely chat with Michele. Miky’s located in Broadway shopping complex and there’s plenty of parking available - the IGA here used to be my “local grocery” back in UWA days. The exteriors are cute and romantic with fairy lights and the interiors have photos of Italy - where Miky was born (Punta) and the Amalfi coast. MARUMO // Winning the restaurant booking lotto on Thursday night thanks to @lalithaanantha @thisisangelang and @gwenwhoo ❤️ The last time I visited was seven years ago in 2015 - haven’t been able to get a restaurant booking since. If you’ve tried booking, you’d know it’s pretty much impossible as the restaurant website crashes at the release time and all seats are snapped up within a few minutes. Seating only 24 people and only opening on Tuesdays to Fridays, the seven course menu is now $80pp inclusive of complimentary green tea. The restaurant is BYO and $2.50pp for corkage. Glad to have a chance to re-visit again after seven years. Loving our food community in Perth where I’ve met so many incredible people through our shared love of food. Menu on @perthfoodmenu or click #PFR_VIPGourmet For drinks we had: - Gina’s Passion cocktail $16 - Peroni $9 FOOD： - Prosciutto with garlic bread (pic 7: complimentary for every table) - Grandma’s meatballs $18 - Black Forest Arancini $18 - Seafood Linguine $34 - Truffle Ravioli $28 - Tiramisu $14 - Cannoli $14 Especially enjoyed the crispy, flavoursome Arancini balls, crunchy caramelised chocolate bits between the tiramisu and orange flavoured ricotta in the cannoli. Gina’s passion cocktail was delicious - refreshing and sweet. Seafood linguine had fresh seafood (bigger portion of linguine pasta would have been better as we finished it way too fast 🙈) and the truffle ravioli was cooked very al dente. Meatballs were very interesting as it had a crusty exterior. The Italian dishes here are different from your usual traditional suspects with an interesting twist. Thank you Michael and Andrea for your lovely hospitality.
