It's funny how humans are naturally drawn to the camera. If the camera is a Leica, I notice an increase in draw. This weekend a few buddies and myself were able to spend some time near Rollinsville, Colorado (we found out about the #nedfire because the Slurry Jets were looping over our heads to put out it out.) I brought a Leica M9, Leica M2 and Olympus stylus Epic for whatever adventures we got into. As you can see, @llemons230 picked up the M9. @solodolodan picked up the M2 and the Stylus Epic became the squad documentary camera. What this forced was education. I had to teach everyone [who wanted to use a Leica] the basics behind Aperture, Shutter speed, ISO, and Rangefinder focus. Not to mention, the basics of light and recognizing good light or isolating a subject in difficult light. Luckily for us, the Leica M is the perfect camera to learn on - like a gun, the all mechanical controls allow you to make a physical connection to the components of photography, not just a digital display. The couple days into the mountains became a photo workshop excursion based around our off-roading and alpine hammocking. Now I get to sit back on my computer and see everyone's perspectives through my camera. I love my friends. I love my Leicas. When I am able to mix the two harmoniously, it feels amazing. I think my dream is to open a photography school based around the Leica M. I'll make it happen. Have a great week, everyone.
