he'd never allowed himself to truly care for someone outside of his sister, so no matter the contect, there's an adjustment period.

but once he's fully come around ot the idea?

he's just as peach as punch.

truly the best person you could be with, despite his flaws and shortcomings (or overcomings).

but he will genuinley see you as a deity once you've shown that you are accepting and kind.

you'll take his sister's place in his mind.

and he does things to ensure you're comfortable too.

mostly environmental things like what temperature you're most comfortable at or any physical stims you might do subconciously like drumming your fingers against your leg or tapping your foot.

Basic Details

I do love my pony Kokichi because he's an alicorn who put a stupid shitty looking fake horn over his real horn so he can be "lmao look I'm an alicorn" and everyone's just "dammit Kokichi stop lying you're a pegasus" The Ringleader Alicorn, Royal Collusion/Checkered Past. Also his horn is actually somewhat curved to show his more morally dubious nature.

Kokichi in true Kokichi fashion took up two names, Royal Collusion and Checkered Past, this is to make it harder for people to identify him and to give him a backup alias in case of trouble, he mostly goes by Checkered Past though because he likes the intrigue

The reason he's an alicorn is its a remnant of his talent, he is the Ultimate Supreme Leader and there is no higher form of Supreme Leader then an alicorn, so his body when formed as a pony it naturally gravitated towards alicorn because of that.

The domain i gave him was a mix of trickery and hospitality, like that one myth about Odin posing as an old man and going to peoples houses to see what they do when a poor old man knocks on their door asking for shelter. This gives him a natural knack for more chaotic forms of magic along with being able to be like "you're a rude piece of shit, get out of my house"

Checkered Past very much does not want to be outed as an alicorn or become royalty, that's why he wears his obviously fake horn over his real horn, as fun as being an alicorn is, being one of the rulers of the entire country has a LOT of baggage and he much prefers to be just that gremlin pegasus to everyone around him, royalty is soooo overrated and weird so he's sticking with his gang of random foals to do mayhem.

His cutie mark combines a jester hat, crown, and a die, this helps him avoid tooo much trouble with his pranks because it helps assure ponies hes a trickster and jester type, not like, an actual criminal for the most part. Kokichi is so annoyed when he realizes this, how dare his own butt out him like this.

Kokichi has the magical power of any base alicorn he's just untrained but theoretically with enough time he can do basically any magic you see say Celestia doing. His magic specializes though in subtlety and trickery and thats what he finds easiest, very trixie like magic at first but with more of a bend towards pranks then showmanship.

Over time his magic grows more around his domain, allowing him to do spells that obfuscate and confuse more easily, but also around spells about hospitality he finds it much easier then any other pony to do things like summon food and drink, create cushions, basically do magic that lets him be a good host to others while also getting very good at banishing spells or spells that otherwise can make people leave

Arriving in Equestria

This would be an isekai of where he goes after the game, for reasons. He wakes up in a dumpster in Canterlot and doesn't even realize he's Horse at first. Also because I'm mean while he can speak and understand the language he can't read it or anything like that. Sucks to suck.

I put him in canterlot specifically so he can more easily get more information about the world and then eventually dip to ponyville after he deems canterlot too dangerous, my isekai story takes place around season 2 so Twilight is still just a unicorn. Honestly I'd almost be tempted to put him in season 1 purely so he can be team Trixie during that episode but I want him to interact with the Canterlot Wedding too much. (if i had to stick it at a specific time probably ponyville confidential and mmmystery on the friendship express)

Canterlot Era

Kokichi pretends to be deaf and mute at first while he's still learning about the culture and mannerisms so he isn't expected to answer any question or know certain things, especially as the whole pony language understanding only works for words he would know, he can hear someone say cutie mark or alicorn but that doesn't mean he knows what those words mean. He's very stunned by how people just... accept this, if he was back on earth he'd have to go through so much nonsense about keeping a poker face and not reacting to people getting in his face to keep up the lie!

He has a moment where he's like "WOAH a whole gold coin?!" before he learns that gold has been massively inflated via magic students doing alchemy and silver is actually worth more. He also gets very disappointed when he orders a hayburger and it is not in fact, a weird hashbrown burger. Still tastes good but its the PRINCIPLE

Luna

It doesn't help him though that he has so many nightmares, which the moment Luna tries to intervene he's immediately hackles up forcing himself awake the moment he learns that's not part of his dream but someone else. He doesn't get a lot of sleep and when he does sleep its usually more during the day to try and avoid her. When they do interact Luna is all horrified and worried about his dreams and Kokichi is just...

"have you considered that maybe you could just look away? dead dove do not eat! get out of here!"

"WHAT DO DOVES HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING??"

Due to the sheer incomprehensibility of his dreams and the sheer despair, Luna heavily expects Umbrum activity in his past involving hallucinations and illusion magic. Which like, she's not right but is she wrong either?

Ponyville Era

While he starts up in Canterlot, he eventually ends up in Ponyville. Specifically he overhears ponies talking about the Apple Family Reunion and sensing a chance to get lot of information and food he sets off to Ponyville to pretend to be long lost cousin White Cloud (type of apple) he is so SUS to Applejack but at the same time with how big her family is? Entirely possible she just...missed one as shes got like 30 members of her extended family, and she's not super in contact with her even more extended orange family she is SQUINTING.

He spends the entire day tricking applejack into thinking hes a cousin three times removed and by the end when its all revealed applejack's annoyed but then shes like "well i aint happy, but someone doesnt pull something like that for so long without reason, and you did your fair share anyways, so if you wanna stay, id be glad to have you as an apple, at least until you can find your folks" and kokichi is just gone in a blink of a fucking eye, he CANNOT handle that kind of southern warm hospitality, scares the SHIT out of him. It's too warm, its too homely, it feels like a trap or a threat.

Applejack

She's not all that upset about the whole pretending to be a cousin thing. The kid was far too skinny and he did help and cause some laughter during the reunion, that's good enough to be an honorary Apple in her eyes! Checkered Past haaates this, too close to being in a family or something, gross! Nope nope nope! He still appears sometimes for free food though and Applejack happily feeds him as long as he does a few chores.

She's not fond of how much lying he does and being kind of a bad influence on Apple Bloom, but she's trying to be a good influence and not scare him off more.

Honestly he's a little terrified of Applejack, but not because of the honesty thing, thats just fun to poke, but because applejack is just so earnest and welcoming but like, takes no shit, so she's nice to him, but she also radiates a kind of authority and stern but fair attitude that makes Checkered Past take off running because its just too much for him. Not that this stops him from braving his fears for free really good pie though.

She gets her edge in to really start getting him to open up when he shows an interest in rodeos for the clowns and stuff. She doesn't fully get it, but it's something they can bond over and he can take him too.

Twilight

He is the bane of Twilight's existence because he keeps stealing books from the library! just check them out like a normal pony! Twilight is a bit concerned and certain he's lying about something even beyond that though.

Twilight: WHERE ARE YOUR PARENTS?!

Checkered Past who stole a book from the library to try and further learn how to read and what the world is like without having to go through paperwork for a library card: Bite me!

Eventually she puzzles together hes been stealing really simply children books and that she doesn't actually...think he knows how to read which is obviously a BIG DEAL to her. However any mention of teachers or school or anything like that is the number one way for Checkered Past to just instantly vanish so she's trying to figure out how to help without triggering that.

Fluttershy

Checkered Past respects the FUCK out of Fluttershy though after a few interactions with her. She's the only one who can actually make him kind of relent or apologize because she's just so nice and also kind of terrifying in a cool way.

Though Fluttershy thinks he's kinda scary with how loud and kind of mean he is, but doesn't think he's a bad pony, worried about how he froze up when he saw harold the bear, he looked genuinely terrified! Though she quickly learns he just seems to need a bit of kindness.

They're a good influence on each other, Kokichi makes her bolder and she makes Kokichi calmer

Kokichi: fuck

Fluttershy later when she stubs her hoof at the market: fuck

Everyone: 😲

He hangs out at fluttershy's house enough that he just ends up picking up a pet, some bird just lands in his mane and starts making a nest and hes just "i guess i have a bird now" he names it Finger to make bad jokes no one gets about giving the finger.

Rarity

Rarity gives a terrible first impression by being like "what in equestria is that filthy thing!" about his bandana, she is determined to give that filthy troublemaker a shower. Which causes a scene when she tries to grab the bandana to also wash it or replace it with a higher quality version and he FREAKS about it. Everyone is concerned.

Eventually they bond though as Checkered Past likes bright and strange outfits, so he can bring knowledge of strange human fashions to ponies, which are then made into interesting experiments are novelties, I imagine he even gets rarity to teach him sewing, and she learns while Checkered Past is an absolute troll, once he gets a hang of sewing with his hoof, he's actually pretty decent, it becomes their gossip sessions

Pinkie Pie

Kokichi due to not knowing what is and isn't normal along with his magic being more inclined towards trickery picks up a lot of Pinkie's habits, he doesnt get pinkie sense but a lot of her gags and storing things in her mane? he picks up on it and learns how to do it purely through his lack of knowledge that it's not a thing 99% of ponies can do, (its also his earth pony magic manifesting)

Beyond that they get along well, Kokichi loves her cupcakes and sweets and they enjoy doing pranks together. Kokichi is almost always down for even her weirdest plans, like Pinkie needs 2 million instruments right this second for some reason? oh shit yeah hes gonna go find her a flute good luck with these parasprite thingies"

Pinkie is worried about him, but she knows that Kokichi doesn't need a mother or a smothering figure, he needs a friend, and Pinkie is happy to oblige

Rainbow Dash

Scootaloo: I wish I could fly

Checkered Past putting a wing around her: Cheer up! No one taught me either! We can be flightless freaks ~together~

Rainbow Dash in the background: WHAT?!

Checkered Past squinting: why are my Kaito senses suddenly tingling

Rainbow Dash does notice Checkered Past struggling with flying and that his wings are more unique. She does help him learn more but there's also a lot of "hey your wings are kind of strange-"

which Kokichi immediately pivots into"thats SO MEAN what if I have a medical condition huh?! WAAAAH"

then applejack is like "you bullying a kid rainbow? that's not very cool"

"NO IM NOT???"

Cutie Mark Crusaders Join DICE

Also he joins the cutie mark crusaders and brings them under his wing after meeting them because he LOVES some chaotic kids and also because he doesn't know what a cutie mark is and he's too afraid to ask. Which helps foreshadow them getting their talents by researching into cutie marks to help explain them to him better.

It's actually rather funny because due to his observations he came to the conclusion they were a coming of age ceremony where a child upon determining and somehow proving what they most desire to do in life, is given a mark to resemble it. However, proving it is difficult and requires effort to ensure that no kid draws for two minutes, gets a mark for it, then realizes they kinda hate drawing actually. Like how an artist will make a masterpiece to prove themselves worthy of getting the title of master from a guild. Which like... is about as close as I think an outsider could get i suppose.

He pays back by helping tutor them in such useful skills like "pickpocketing" and "robbing the tomato merchant by glaring into their soul as Sweetie Belle tries to haggle and Scootaloo taking a bunch of tomatoes while they're distracted" This will devolve into a friendship lesson about why stealing is bad for the CMC much to Kokichi's pouting.

He is a terrible influence but in the funniest way possible Checkered Past is going to teach the cutie mark crusaders the words fuck and shit and no one can stop him

He teaches them good old fashion art of trolling as well, for every insult diamond tiara has, he pulls out some good old fashion internet trolling in return "Omg look at that freak with a fake horn" "your mom didn't call it fake last night" incredible stunned silence from everyone there because these 12 year olds have never heard such a powerful retort

This backfires when Sweetie Bell in a desire to help her new friend who lives in a shed steals some gems for Rarity to try and pretty it up and when she get's caught reveals he lives in a shed and thats why and Rarity is like "that teenage colt lives where?!"

Which like, goddammit Sweetie Belle how dare you disclose the location of Super Secret Evil Hideout Number Seven! This is why Apple Bloom is his second in command not you!

Much later on he also gives a giant verbal beatdown to Scootaloo's parents along with helping scootaloo do one of those "runaway so the parents have to actually pay attention and work together to find the kid" plots

Zecora

Zecora is probably the adult that Checkered Past trusts the most though, she's patient and more importantly she's an outsider like him. Plus she's not afraid to get a little silly that Checkered Past appreciates. It helps that Checkered Past rather enjoys the everfree for being goddamn logical about its weather and stuff and is not afraid to enter into or hide inside. Allowing for plenty of conversation and chatting with Zecora.

Very decent chance that if anyone finds out he's an alicorn way ahead of everyone else, it's Zecora who would be able to keep the secret without judgement and help him better learn magic. Zecora likes his company as well, he's a fun burst of excitement and more importantly he clearly needs direction and is willing to try and experiment. She is happy to supply it, even if Kokichi keeps trying to trip up her rhyming with words like "orange" thats just good practice for herself.

Adopt! That! Pegasus!

Everyone learning he really is just a homeless illiterate teenager is one of the reasons everyone keeps being like "We need to like, figure up whats up with Checkered Past we are Concerned and should get him a safe place to live" while he's just refusing to get adopted, any time someone tries he just vanishes, he groans about all the fussing about a shed because its a GREAT SHED and it has A DOOR and places to put his STUFF and he's not some bougie fuck who needs a BED and a FRIDGE the grass is FINE to eat thank you very much!

Fluttershy is the one to get him to stop hiding from everyone know, she just stomps his hoof and speaks in her no nonsense tone and Kokichi is both so proud and terrified because she's being assertive, but also oh no she's using it on him! Much complaints about how he cannot BELIEVE she turned against him like this thats so MEAN but Fluttershy just stomps again and full names him and Checkered Past just kinda slinks out of where he's hiding because no one is strong enough to resist that.

However it goes downhill pretty fast because of trauma as Twilight tries to friendship speech and everyone is trying to help and he just slips back into that villain facade to try and escape.

Checkered Past goes quiet, shadows covering his eyes before he rears up with a sneer that maybe if everyone weren't so pathetic and weak they'd be on his level, all their talk of trust and friendship, what will they do when they finally have to make a hard choice for the first time in their lives! friendship doesnt save lives! it only makes it harder to survive! Sometimes someone has to die and no friendship can stop that! So until they get out of this fantasy world and realize that they'd throw each other overboard if it meant procuring their own seat, he has nothing more to talk about with them!

Cue fleeing as instead of scaring everyone off this just makes everyone really worried about what he's gone through. Sure they're shaken and a few of them are a bit offended, but like... its hard to hear a traumatized teenager say something like that and not want to help MORE.

The Alicorn Reveal

There's been a few different ideas for how Checkered Past is exposed, usually just that it's usually happened by the time of the Friendship School. The earliest version being when an Ursa Minor stomps into town and to defend the town and especially the CMC he pulls out the magic to help drive it off because he's not yet realized this is kinda same shit different day for the Elements of Harmony. This one usually isn't used but it IS cool.

The most canon moment that gets used though is during the Tirek fight. Since he's the only other alicorn that has magic because no one knew to take it from him causing him to join the fight to try and serve as a distraction for Twilight to go in for the strikes.

Everyone is shocked when he just kinda appears and proceeds to yeet a boulder at Tirek's horns while mocking him for not even being the twentieth scariest thing he's seen. When Tirek tries to hit him he always seems to hit an after image or illusion of Kokichi instead of the actual Kokichi. The gnat in Tirek's ear zapping and zipping around to disorient, get out of his town! no hospitality for him!

Checkered Past has no fear, he's dealt with much scarier things then an oversized centaur bully, he doesn't need to land the finishing blow, he just needs to help distract so Twilight can, so he just focuses in on his innate talent of being AN ANNOYING LITTLE SHIT!!

He eventually gets drained and swatted to the ground, but he buys them more time and there’s big dramatic moment where they all find him after and are like “wait, that’s a real fucking horn” “never mind that! he’s hurt! We need to get him help” and he wakes up in the crystal castle and he has a very intense moment of paranoia due to not being conscious for that part and thus confused on where he is and oh god oh god the fight-

He's also super magically exhausted by this, so he can't teleport away or escape when he realizes They Know His Secret.

The Reveal Conversation

Everyone has So Many Questions for him but even being injured and tired he clams up. He demands a lawyer, Pinkie Pie agrees to be his lawyer, Kokichi wants a new lawyer, he does not get a new lawyer, his legal case is in shambles.

He's super defensive, refusing to answer anything, very hostile. Though they do manage to get a few questions though-

Fluttershy walking by the bed and putting her hoof over his shoulders, "Checkered, no ones going to make you do anything you dont want to do, but we're really worried about you. We just want to help you make a full recovery, that's all."

Checkered Past sticking his nose up, "Hmph! I still want a new lawyer"

Fluttershy giving him not quite the Stare but a look of "im being serious", "Checkered..."

Checkered Past groaning, "fine fine you get three questions and thats it!"

Applejack whispering to Rarity in the background, "How in tarnations did she make him do that"

The three questions are

"How long have you been an alicorn?"

"Why didn't you tell anyone?"

And "Do you even like cheesecake?"(Pinkie)

Kokichi huffs, his hooves fiddling with the sheets, he glares up at the stupid ponies, who were so stupid, and should have been dead 20 times over by now, and even if they managed to squeeze out of yet another disaster, were still stupid, no sense of self preservation. The fact they were looking at him with pity, they genuinely thought he didn't know this would change everything? Pathetic, stupid, so stupid.

His eyes flicked over to Fluttershy though, she was...not pathetic at least, and it was annoying. So annoying that she knew he liked her the most and dared to use it against him! Truly, no pony could fully be trusted despite the facade of this being Candyland.

However....he didn't really want to make her more upset, she'd already had a pretty shit day, he didn't want to give her another betrayal. So he sighed, and put on his normal grin, as if this wasn't a nightmare situation, and spoke cheerfully "As long as I remember, because I'm not an idiot, and red velvet is better"

When everyone's backs are turned discussing bringing him to canterlot and informing Celestia he dips out a window though. He's not so injured he can't glide out after all! Especially because Rarity makes a few comments about a new prince and before Rainbow Dash can be like "Yeaaah I dunno if he'd be all about that" he is GONE and there has to be a whole plot tracking him down and assuring him he doesn't need to rule anything or be royalty or anything.

The Cutie Map

He does get cutie map quests though, often he'll be called if a problem involves a child, he's going to put on the BEST damn show you've seen in your life in an hour to save the children's festival! Also into locations that are perhaps a bit...darker then the others, if Checkered Past's being sent it tends to learn towards "children are involved time to bring the carnival town" "someone needs to learn how to be a leader" or if hes alone more a "there may have been a wee bit of a kidnapping here maybe can you help?"

He'd be sent to griffonstone as well, he can gossip about the stupid pony stuff he's seen and help Gilda and everyone get their talons on the ground with what it means to lead especially on such a scale

He definitely at one point gets sent on one of those "this is a wee bit darker then a kids show would allow" map missions with starlight at least once, he complains the entire time and starlight is once again reconsidering being reformed

He goes on one friendship mission with Fluttershy and thats how they learn about his huge bug phobia/trauma.

he's very much trying to not think about the spiders and other bugs around them because Fluttershy seems to be having fun with them, but there's so many of them, and Fluttershy talking to them is bringing more and more over and it's getting harder to walk and when he blinks he remembers a room covered in bug cages, he remembers, a pad in his hands, he remembers the way the cages were dirty and dead when he saw it last, don't squish the spiders havent you killed enough bugs? havent you done enough? don't squish the spiders-

Fluttershy looks over and screams, as Checkered Past hits the ground

Starlight

Kokichi meeting Starlight goes... poorly as he tags along to go check out the map quest. Starlight tries to talk and then Kokichi just starts playing with his magic a heavily distorted version of the communist theme. It's very much a terrible start for the two of them and it does not get much better over time.

Kokichi is just loudly going "THIS IS A CULT" at all opportunities, he fucking hates starlight, he's going to start causing problems, he IS dumping hair dye on random ponies and messing up outfits, ITS TOO SAMEY he IS GOING TO MAKE YOU NEON GREEN WITH A MOHAWK, your WELCOME

This does inadvertedly lead to him revealing he's only had his cutie mark for like a year, and getting a lot of looks for that, especially when he still seems to be able to use a lot of his skills that should be connected to his talent because he developed them without any magic assistance for the most part so while he's weakened he's not as out as the others.

Even when Starlight gets redeemed Kokichi can't help but bicker and butt heads with her. They're just too similar in specific ways that cause them to clash overall. However, they will team up for the greater good. For instance, they both agree that Starwirl is ANNOYING and A JERK and pay him back for whenever he upsets Twilight.

So basically if its just the two of them without really a common goal they're squabbling like cats and dogs but the moment they align on a task or idea they switch to more mean best friend kinda vibes who talk shit about your outfit. They also both think Trixie is neat and can use the other to vent about what stupid shit Trixie did this time.

It's actually this seeing to Kokichi's shittier troll side that lets her realize when the changelings replaced him all "he didnt say something stupid when i left him an opening somethings wrong"

Cozy Glow

The biggest change Kokichi will eventually take is when Cozy Glow is being arrested he just kinda walks over slurping on a drink, picks up Cozy Glow and just kinda... leaves with her. He took one look at her and her schemes and went "this is mine now" as he plays up how eeeevil he is to get her to join up with him. While Cozy Glow is very hesitant and suspicious, she does play along and basically becomes his daughter. Starting as her using him that slowly turns into a genuine family,

Kokichi adores his menace of a daughter so much, she's so clever and sneaky and amazing. Number One Cozy Glow defender right here. Kokichi just picked her up with her magic and walks away while she was being sentenced to tartarus and everyone’s just like “can…can he do that?”

Kokichi: the princesses are sooo lame arent they? and i see a lot of potential in you kid

Cozy Glow: Well golly! That's a very interesting offer!

Kokichi: You really impressed me, friendship sure makes a wonderful weapon, it's a shame no one else notices

Cozy Glow: I suppose it wouldn't be so bad to hang out with you for a little bit mister, I hope we can be good friends

Kokichi already planning on how to turn her ambitions to something more harmless and fun: Yay! I love making friends!

She's not fully redeemed by the time she gets pulled into the end of season scheme by Discord. However he defends her from being punished and points out the progress he was making with her before that bastard STOLE HIS DAUGHT- student. This is what causes him to officially make her his ward and he simply Does Not Hear the jokes on him doing to her what Luna tried to do to him.

This show of faith in her really rattles Cozy Glow though, and is a big part of her getting better because no one has ever so genuinely and truly cared for her like this. Especially because he basically jumps in the way of the petrification magic to put up a shield around the two of them and hold her tight to ensure he could protect her from it. It really impacts Cozy Glow that he would do this for her after EVERYTHING she did, how she betrayed him, yet he still wants her around? The he's not even pretending she's not who she is but because he sees her for who she is and sees her genuine potential?

He gets the reasoning behind Discord's actions, probably better then everyone else, but this is thE DUMBEST FUCKING PLAN GIVE HIM YOUR MAGIC, GIVE IT, HE'S THE EMBODIMENT OF CHAOS NOW, GIVE IT YOUVE LOST THE RIGHT!!

I get emotional about them tbh. In the finale we see that Cozy Glow has settled a lot, and while she's never fully good like the other ponies around her, she doesn't want to be a villain anymore. She wants to be loved and to learn more and understand the world. Checkered Past was a super good influence on her.
