Hate when I'm whumping a fave character via nausea and I begin to feel nauseous too; like is it sympathy nausea? Is something actually wrong with me? Is it just my body? Or is the Ao3 curse attempting to take me?

the first thing camila noticed was the silence. not the peaceful kind ― the heavy, early-morning quiet that pressed against her ears and made her stomach churn even more. the curtains were still drawn, leaving the hotel room dim and hazy, the faint outline of the city just barely visible through the fabric. then it hit her again. sharp and sudden. she clapped a hand over her mouth, already scrambling out of bed before her mind could catch up, rushing toward the bathroom. morning sickness had been a more frequent visitor the past week and every advice she'd read about and followed to ease it, didn't seem to help much. her breath was shallow between waves, her whole body trembling. but all she could think about was charles, laying right next in the other room and praying that this wouldn't wake him up. when it finally eased, she stayed there for another minute, bent over, eyes squeezed shut, waiting to see if it would come back. the bed creaked faintly and her heart jumped. fuck. she swallowed hard, letting the tap run to get rid of the disgusting taste in her mouth before she reached for a towel, wiping her mouth quickly like that could erase everything. she knew she had to tell him. but a part of her was hoping she could drag it out as long as possible. because the second she would tell him, it would become real. and no matter what his reaction would be, it would stay real. her eyes flicked up to the mirror and for a moment she just stared at herself ― pale and tired. her hand drifted almost unconsciously to her stomach, her eyes following the movement. when she looked back up, there was something more beyond the tiredness in the reflection. something softer. she inhaled slowly through her nose, steadying herself before reaching for the doorknob to step back into the bedroom. "sorry, i didn't mean to wake you, babe." her voice was almost a whisper, a small smile creeping up on her features, even though she was sure it didn't look half as convincing as she had planned it to be. she could blame it on the jetlag or the food last night, after she had refused to check out that hyped up sushi place and go for fried rice instead, which had already earned her a weird look from him. but she didn't wanna lie. not to him. she settled back down in bed next to him, her head resting against the frame. "we need to talk." she tilted her head a little towards him, slowly, as if that could buy her some more time. "there's something i need to tell you." / @chaaaarlez
