This spread is dedicated to providing advice about future love, and what may come about in a relationship should you pursue one in the near future. It addresses the many stages and aspects of a burgeoning romance in turn; let’s go through them together -- starting with the top left card and working our way to the tip of the pyramid.

The first card is the spark, or the igniting aspect that sets the entire process in motion. It is represented here by the Eight of Pentacles, a card of apprenticeship and mastery. It is thus likely you will meet someone through your talent, or via mutual appreciation of each others’ talents. After the spark comes the Courtship, or how the relationship blossoms into something more. The Nine of Swords tells of strife here; you or the object of your affection may be trapped in a “will they, won’t they” period for some time. Communication here is key. The much happier Four of Wands greets you at the Joy, or the expression of love between you. Once the relationship comes to fruition, you will tend towards a happy, exuberant love -- one easily expressed via words, touch, or outward emotion.

The Foundation, or the binding that holds the relationship together, tempers the happiness of the Joy with the Eight of Swords, a mental entrapment that could lead to distrust or similar rifts, clarified in the challenges next to it, represented by the Two of Wands (a card of choice or decision). Be mindful of petty fights or squabbles that could cause tension between you and your partner. They are not worth jeopardizing the union you have.
