I'm not too familiar with sea snails, so here's what I learned...

it looks like a melting ice cream scoop :')

...because they absorb seawater to expand their bodies, which looks like it flows almost completely out of the shell, but they can retract it all and shut the door with an operculum.

They feed on bivalves by punching holes and inserting acid, then slurping the liquified body tissues of their prey... often the result of this is the shells with tiny holes that we see at the beach...

While looking for a better answer I stumbled across this video, which might be of interest:

First described in 1822 as Natica conica by Jean-Baptiste Lamarck, of early evolutionary theory fame.

Common on most Australian intertidal sandflats, where they prey on small molluscs. Their egg masses are much larger than the parent snail, and resemble a transparent semicircular sausage flecked with thousands of tiny eggs.
