Something I'm wondering about is how deeply has Nasu been controlling the Gero family? We know he's been grooming Gero by posing as the "teacher" since childhood. Now, his grandmother could very well be manipulating her own appearance to be young but I'm skeptical she isn't just a doll at this point. We learn at one point Gero has hardly ever seen her in person, too

If she isn't under his control, why does she place so much decision making control in his hands?

Like, this is really hinting at her awareness that some kind of thinning of the clans and perhaps even the consolidation of the top 5 into one chimera of bloodlines. But wouldn't she assume that Nasu wants to be the one in control? How is she okay with potentially losing their bloodline to this doll-user plot?

Plus we have this brow-raising image from the ancestral home:

that's 5 different flower heads grafted together.

Now why does that seem familiar? Oh yeah, Toshiro's beast amalgamation, which was thwarted of course, by Gero, once already.

But curious that Nasu would show up later to encourage that monkey fuck to keep going with the experimentation has me side-eyeing that whole thing.

Like if that wasn't a parallel to amalgamating the bloodlines, I don't think we'd be contending with the byakko beast a second time around.

And here's another thing!! I'm curious as to why Nasu would want the power to stop bloodlust?

The only thing I can think of is that is yet another vector of control for him to harness and the only reason I believe that is because of Tonako's reaction to being afflicted by it. She was unharmed, yes, but she was shook by her own response of letting Gero go after their fight. She clearly was not intending that and yet she was powerless to go against not wanting to kill him. Also in the moment before Gero strikes she is reminded of her encounter with Nasu as a child and compares that feeling to the one Gero is creating in the moment

It's interesting to me that Nasu even has bloodlust, as he seems more calculating and cunning than feral and aggressive but I suppose he does kill.
