There are more than 40,000 rivers and streams in Kyrgyzstan, with a total length of approximately 150,000 km, with about 47 cubic kilometers of water flowing out annually. The main source of water in the rivers is melt water from numerous mountain glaciers. The amount of rainfall is less than 1/5 of the total water flow. Bosogo, a narrow and picturesque gorge in the At-Bashy region in the eastern part of the At-Bashy valley at the confluence of the Atbashinsky and Naryn ranges. The length is about 4 km, the width of the foothills is up to 400 m. The height above sea level is 2600 m. The gorge was formed as a result of tectonic and erosional processes. The slopes are steep, along the At-Bashy river flowing through the gorge there are terraces up to 50 m wide. Dense tracts of spruce and shrub forests. A highway connecting the Aksai syrts with the At-Bashy valley passes through Bosogo. Kel-Suu is a high-mountainous lake of glacial origin, located in the southeastern part of the Naryn region, near the Kyrgyz-Chinese border, at an altitude of 3500 meters. The lake is remarkable for its stunning views - the water in it is bright blue and contrasts very beautifully with the surrounding rocks. This is one of the most beautiful and at the same time inaccessible places in Kyrgyzstan. Kel-Suu is a dammed lake formed in a large crevice between rocks. Most of it is not visible from the shore, and therefore to see the whole lake, you need to sail on it in a boat. The lake is 9 kilometers long and its width varies from 500 meters to 2 kilometers at its widest point. The lake has one unusual feature, in honor of which such a name was given to it. Kel-Suu is translated from Kyrgyz as “incoming water”. Indeed, sometimes the lake disappears, flowing into underground caves and grottoes, and therefore before going there you need to know that the lake may not be found. The lake is very difficult to access. It is located on the hard-to-reach Kokshaal-Too ridge, and the way there lies through the vast Ak-Sai valley and abounds in swampy places and fords, which can only be handled by a trained car and an experienced driver.
