Yassin Alsalman (Aka The Narcicyst) Iraqi Via Montreal I had a dream a couple of months ago that I was flying over Egypt. I walked around for days with that feeling of being free, wind holding me up above earth. A week later, I got a beat in my inbox from my brother Bei-Ru entitled ‘Flying Into Egypt’. My music comes together like a movie sometimes. Some of the closest people that know me have kissed that sky.  I promised myself, Inshallah, I would visit this year. But before I did, I had to share my love with the people that shaped the inspiration to keep moving upwards, the land of love and pain, the mother of the world, as they call her. This song is dedicated to those who have lost their lives all over the world, standing up for OUR rights. Arabs showed the world this year, enough is enough. Stop bombarding us. Stop holding us back. I asked some of my closest friends, and some of my listeners, to tell me how they felt about Egypt. I was blown away by their responses.  Our youth are ready for the next; they deserve it more than we do. Our children need an earth to live on in peace and equality. And we will have that, in our hands, very soon. Egypt was not the beginning, but it was a mirror to all our frustrations, live, for us to watch.  Maybe it’s time we all follow suit. Those in suits are not to be followed. Love.
