Nancy’s side of the family always mogging

it was intended to be a little more serious than my usual cringefare, all black and white, and taking place right after nancy kills johnny's pet rabbit that he was keeping in the family house shed (the parallels😭) drayton makes a ham-fisted attempt at comforting him, and it ends on a rly bittersweet note, by sawyer standards it was almost kinda wholesome!

(she's throwing a knife into the kitchen sink here but i just think its funny out of context💀)

i wanted to highlight my headcanons abt what kind of a mom nancy mustve been (namely cruel and impatient im sure💀) and maybe some sympathy drayton mightve had for johnny when he was a kid, considering he says he "wouldn't wish this rotten life off on a one-eyed ferret with mange" in tcm 2, and johnny was forced into it without even realizing😭 idk the timelines probably nonsensical and its completely based on my own perceptions about the characters but i was really into the idea when i started and wanted to try something different!

; the sawyer/slaughter family almost catching you and johnny in a more intimate situation..

drayton sawyer ;

♡ when drayton walks into his kitchen, he doesn't expect anyone to be there. least of all you and johnny.

♡ he stops dead in his tracks when he sees you, curled up in johnny's lap, your faces inches apart.

♡ "what the hell are you two doin' in here?!"

♡ you scrambled off of johnny's lap in embarrassment. johnny looks unbothered mostly. drayton's looking between you both, confused.

♡ "just relax, old man. nothin'. jus' waitin' for dinner, s'all." johnny would gaslight. of course.

♡ drayton shakes his head, "well.. well, just don't be in my kitchen by yourselves.. i'll call ya'll for dinner when it's ready! i told you!"

♡ is overall really.. confused, wondering if it's what he suspects or not.

♡ whacks johnny with his broom to get you guys to leave. "don't make me call yer mama up here, johnny. go on, git!"

nubbins sawyer ;

♡ sees you and johnny canoodling in the sunflower fields outside of the house. is very nosy about it, of course!

♡ he sneaks closer, seeing you cuddling up to johnny, a little too close for comfort as you lean in..

♡ where he fucks up, is struggling to get ahold of his camera to take a picture. this alerts johnny to him being there.

♡ you and johnny both sit up, and the flash of the camera blinds you for a second as you do. he missed anything too intimate, but still took a quick picture.

♡ "dang it! juh- johnny! youu jus' had- hadta' move!" he complains, "what were.. you two d- doin' anyway?!"

♡ you look at johnny in a panic, and johnny looks irritable, of course. nubbins had interrupted.

♡ "none of yer business! go take pictures of somethin' else or i'll really give you somethin' to take pictures of." johnny threatens him.

♡ nubbins gets lost in arguing with johnny, but that thought was in his head now, that you were too cozy with johnny, that it was weird..

♡ will bring it up again, over and over. never living it down.

bubba sawyer ;

♡ he is making his way down into the basement to work on one of his masks, of course. but you and johnny are there. near his workspace. almost.. kissing?

♡ bubba is quite clumsy, so you hear him coming and jump back. he makes a little noise of concern when he sees this.

♡ johnny shrugs. "don't you worry none, big boy. we're jus' hangin' around down here. goin' to the cold room."

♡ bubba makes the face shown in the gif above, then nods, making another noise.

♡ he's not entirely convinced, but he's not going to press.

♡ watches you both leave towards johnny's cold room, tilting his head as johnny grabs your hand.

♡ definitely not convinced.

sissy slaughter ;

♡ out in nancy's front yard, the flowers surrounding you, your lips touch johnny's briefly before you hear sissy's loud gasp come from the house.

♡ "what are youuuuuu two up to out here?~" she's like the cat who caught the cream, her smile large and proud.

♡ she approaches, and you are looking away from her and johnny both in embarrassment.

♡ "sissy, don't you start-" johnny would groan in irritation.

♡ "you two are awfully cozzyyy, johnny!" she'd look at you, a teasing point of her finger.

♡ you shake your head, nervous that maybe she suspects more than she should.

♡ and she does. but johnny is quick. "yer bein' weird, those hippies got ya on somethin' weird. go bother someone else."

♡ sissy sneers at johnny, annoyed with his mentioning of where she was previously. with that she leaves, still suspicious but growing tired of being around johnny.

nancy slaughter ;

♡ oh, this one is heavy. you're in the safety of johnny's shack, standing on johnny's toes about to close the gap between the two of you when the shack door swings open.

♡ you jump out of your skin, and this time, johnny does, too.

♡ the space isn't enough, when you see both of your adoptive mother in the doorway, her head tilted slightly as she squints.

♡ "what exactly is going on in here?" she'd ask, voice booming and authoritarian, her presence clear.

♡ "nothin', mama. we were jus' talkin'.." johnny would shrink a little, trying his hardest to lie without seeming dishonest.

♡ "yeah, just tellin' johnny something!" you'd speak up, both of you knowing your mother's wrath all too well.

♡ nancy's arms would fold over her chest, her suspicions very clear. "of course, my two darling children wouldn't ever be up to anything impure, right?"

♡ you both nod, almost in sync. of course you'd never do that, especially not with your adoptive brother, right?

♡ nancy nods, a little hum of acceptance can be heard with a small frown on her lips.

♡ "well.. come on, child." she motions you towards her, "we need to get to working on dinner."

♡ you can sense she will be keeping closer eyes on both of you.

hands mcnamara ;

♡ hands finds you and johnny out near a truck johnny was supposed to be working on..

♡ he stares, dumbfounded as he sees you straddling johnny's lap. you look up, see him standing there, and immediately scramble off of the man. "oh- um- uncle hands-"

♡ johnny looks up at him and then back at you, his hand covering any.. issues.. he may be having.

♡ hands makes a face, one that is confused and clearly skeptical. he grunts.

♡ johnny speaks up, of course. "everything's fine. jus' helpin' me with the truck," he lies.

♡ hands knows better, unfortunately. but he just shakes his head.

bones ;

♡ "damn, boy! what in the hell are you doin' to yer sister?!"

♡ you separate from johnny, who you were hugging and staring up at like some cutesy romance novel.

♡ bones walks over, looking up at johnny and pointing his finger up at him. "you know how this looks, kiddo?"

♡ johnny rolls his eyes. "no, old man, i don't get what yer on about."

♡ bones shakes his head, but his focus is entirely on johnny. he doesn't blame you in the slightest. "yer mama is goin' to skin you like a cat, boy. and her too!"

♡ he is concerned, but more like.. because he knows nancy is not fond of girls 'taking her place' in johnny's life. he's smart, and while he doesn't grasp that you two are actually.. romantic, he thinks you are way too close. which you are.

♡ "you better keep some space. come here girl," he turns to you now, and has you follow him to go help with the newest grave he was digging.

chop-top sawyer ;

♡ giggling, running up and poking and proding you both.

♡ "oohhh, what's goin' on out here!?" he smugly giggles.

♡ you were almost kissing johnny, and chop was weirdly excited to run over and see.

♡ "you guys look like yer having funnnnn! can i join? what are we doin'??"

♡ johnny makes a disgusted face, shoving him away, and rolling his eyes. "yer slow if ya think that would ever..., chop. no."

♡ chop starts talking about other things, then, making faces and scratching at his sonny bono wig the whole time. he is confused, and mentions it again, but is easily distracted.
