Don’t forget your antlers

Natasha had just finished checking to make sure everything was in order when people began filing into the loft. She was relieved that it had been a relatively stress free couple of days, the last few weeks had been anything but, and her friends all seemed in upbeat spirits. She would have fought off hell itself if she had to to make this holiday party happen though - James had been slightly moodier then usual, and she could only write that up to the upcoming holiday. It’s not as though they had ever celebrated it together so they had never really talked about it, otherwise things were going fine. A bit bumpy, as one would expect, but fine. Everything was just perfect.
Natasha paused when she heard the freight elevator moving. She tapped Sam on the shoulder as she passed him, a giant grin on her face. When the elevator opened James was standing in it. “Surprise!” She beamed at him. “Figured a Christmas party might be in order since, well, you seemed like you wanted one.”
