Page 14. ---- NAMAO, Alta., Jan. 5. - Two Royal Canadian Mounted Police stood guard today at the Boomerang Coal Mine two miles west of this town 14 miles north of Edmonton as 18 striking miners refused to leave the property. The men refused pay checks offered by David J. Gwilliam, operator of the mine, and went on strike Wednesday when five of their number were laid off.
