What Remains Unbroken | AO3
Pairing: Tom Riddle x Nagini Rating: PG-13
Tom Riddle travels to Egypt in search of an ancient artifact that might save him from the consequences of his first Horcrux.
Unfortunately, the expedition is led by a woman who hides her real name, talks to snakes, and proves to be a far greater mystery than the artifact itself.
𓂀 Imagine “The Mummy” meets Indiana Jones—and Tom Riddle gets his own “The Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love”.
𓆣 An Egypt AU carefully woven into canon. Everything before and after this story remains unchanged.
𓋹 Inspired by my journey through Egypt and the real places featured in this story.

The tulle by the window fluttered, sometimes billowing like a sail, sometimes falling flat and concealing the garden of Slytherin Manor, over which a gray twilight was gathering. Tom, leaning on the windowsill, gazed thoughtfully at the darkening sky. Bare to the waist, he was enjoying the coolness of the late summer evening.
Suddenly, the young Dark Lord’s solitude was interrupted. At that very moment, he felt gentle hands touch his lower back and glide smoothly down to his lower abdomen. A surge of pleasant anticipation shot through him: sharp, sweet, as if promising something more than just a touch. Tom slowly straightened up and turned around.
Nagini was wearing a black, semi-transparent blouse—weightless and flowing. The fabric softly outlined her collarbones, her delicate wrists, and the curves of her body, not revealing but merely hinting at her hidden beauty. When Tom shifted his gaze from the gloomy landscape outside the window to her, the detachment in his eyes melted away, replaced by intense focus.
She moved in close, making no secret of her initiative. Her warm lips touched his neck just below his ear. Tom obediently tilted his head back and froze. His breathing faltered, his eyelids grew heavy, and the world seemed to narrow down to that single moment. Nagini traced her lips lower, toward his collarbone, and lingered there, listening to her beloved’s pulse quicken.
Tom wrapped his arms around her waist. Under his fingers he felt cool fabric, and beneath it, a living, trembling warmth. Nagini lifted her head and looked into his eyes. Deep within his pupils, reflected light trembled, revealing something inhumanly calm and yet insatiable, as if Nagini were awakening something primal. With her fingertips, she traced his cheekbone, traced the line of his jaw, and drew Tom’s face toward hers.
The kiss began gently, almost cautiously, as if they were both afraid of scaring away this fragile feeling. But very soon it grew deeper, more insistent, and Tom responded without a hint of hesitation. The tart taste of her lips made his head spin, blurring the lines between “before” and “after.” He stopped thinking, casting aside all extraneous thoughts to belong entirely to this moment and to Nagini. He simply leaned forward—and Nagini accepted him, pressing her whole body against him, running her fingers through the dark chestnut waves of his hair.
The wind tore at the tulle, flinging an emerald-transparent wave of fabric at their feet, but neither of them stirred. Tom held Nagini tighter, returning her kiss as if he wanted to absorb all her warmth, to remember it for years to come. Her palms glided over his shoulders and across his bare chest, leaving warm traces, as if branding this moment into his memory. Tom Riddle was completely lost in her—in the taste of the kiss, in those touches, in the subtle scent of her skin—and he didn’t want to come back. There wasn’t a shred of willpower left to resist: at that moment, Nagini was all that existed for him.
Did Tom see a mother figure in Nagini?
That’s an interesting perspective, especially considering we know Nagini sustained him with her venom while he was hiding in Albania. To me, though, that only reinforces the idea that she was still a pet, albeit one far more significant than an ordinary one; his closest companion. Her role as his temporary “caretaker,” in the sense that she literally helped sustain and nourish him, combined with the unusually close bond they shared through Parseltongue, gave her a unique place in Tom’s life. Well, if we’re talking about nurturing or even a degree of emotional comfort, then I can see where the comparison comes from.
But I still wouldn’t call her a mother figure. She no longer retained her human consciousness, and whether she had once been human or not, I don’t think it would have made a great difference to Tom. She was what she was now: an exceptionally powerful and unique snake with whom he could communicate with as one of her own.
Credence and Nagini💝
I love them so muchh. Tried a new style it’s kinda chopped😳
