Today we worked on language skills. I used regular paper to right the letters of my 3yo daughters name and hung them on the wall then I used post it notes to right the corresponding letters and colors. She took the post it’s from the table and matched them to the letters on the wall. We called out each letter as we went. This taught her matching, sorting, letter recognition, uppercase/lower case, and spelling her name. Super easy and inexpensive and she had a blast. We will continue to do this with different words exposing her to all the letter of the alphabet and new words. Found this awesome germ hand sanitizer on Pinterest and turned it to an activity! I made the germitizer with glitter and hand sanitizer. Then had each of the kids rub it all over their hands. On the table was a variety of methods used to clean hands. We first tried to clean our hands with tissue. No help at all. Then we tried to clean our hands with paper towel, a little bit of glitter cane off but not much. Then baby wipes which collected lots of glitter but our hands were still covered. So we tried hand sanitizer and all that did was move the germs around. So we finally washed our hands with soap and water scrubbing between the fingers for a total of 20 seconds while singing a hand washing song. Guess what! Hands were all clean. Painting on foil! Super easy and super fun. Adds a nice sensory touch as opposed to painting on paper. Also helped with mathematical skills by teaching how adding two things together makes something new. We love color mixing! Today we created green by mixing blue and yellow.
