Another day. Another moment of me asking about Nacli or Garganacl
This one will be a little simpler, just because we don’t have a large amount of information about this pokémon as of yet. Unfortunately, despite this, I can firmly say that they would not be a particularly safe option for a lot of owners, and the “B” score that my system gave me doesn’t really get across how much hesitation you should have.
Sure, to begin with, nacli are a perfect size. They stand at just over a foot tall and weigh thirty-five pounds, meaning that making space for them and getting them around won’t be exceptionally difficult in most cases. They seem friendly enough as well, as the pokédex explains that these pokémon were treasured in the past because they would willingly share their salt (Scarlet). Free salt, not so bad!
Now, that free salt might make a bit of a mess, though. You see, nacli are known to leave behind trails known as “salt roads” as they move around and the ground scrapes against their body (Violet, Legends: Z-A). This harmless to them, since they constantly replenish the salt that they need, but it will definitely leave a mess and could damage your flooring if you have hardwood or tile. Luckily, as a nice bonus, you may be able to sell this salt or donate it to a good cause.
There hasn’t been any real cause for concern yet, but that’s because we haven’t taken a look at the moves a nacli can use. As Rock-Type pokémon, nacli can make use of a barrage of moves that could pose a pretty serious danger to people and structures around them, like Rock Slide and Earthquake. Then there’s moves like Stealth Rock, which while not necessarily deadly could pose a significant (and painful) obstacle in the home.
These moves are somewhat offset by their ability to heal themselves using Recover, but in general they are a little more dangerous than I would recommend on this blog. This problem is strengthened by the fact that we simply don’t have every much information about their behavior. Do they hunt, or are these moves used purely in self-defense? Are they territorial? Erratic? A lot of questions marks and the move Earthquake don’t mix well for me. I would personally hold off on this one until we have more information about it, but technically as far as score goes a lot of owners might be able to make it work.
The Sprite Project - 2
Nacli
Info:
Date started - 7th July 2026
Date finished - 7th July 2026
Size - 18x19
Notes:
This one was a bit more tricky thanks to the size but I managed! I do wish I'd used darker colours in certain places but I think it still looks good regardless! Definitely another step in honing my skills
"The ground scrapes its body as it travels, causing it to leave salt behind. Salt is constantly being created and replenished inside Nacli's body." (Violet)
Would Salty from Thomas the Tank Engine have a Nacli?
Yes, they would
No, they would not
see results :3

Some possible looking Pokemon from a teaser of Legends Arceus before revealing that it was a Hisuian Zorua and a Scarlet and Violet trailer of Tandemaus, Nacli and Squawkabilly
Day 175: Nacli
What a champ.
How can you dislike pokemon when you never run out of absolute nerd ass puns such as my three favorite children.
