What's the difference (if any) between wild-harvested and captive-raised Nacli salt? I see both at the store and the wild-harvest ones are always super expensive compared to everything else...
the only real difference is slight changes in flavor profile from trace minerals in their diet. these changes can be replicated in captivity through careful dietary management, but there's a certain prestige to having your salt come only from wild nacli, i suppose.
the price increase is partly because of the social status aspect, but it's also because wild nacli salt is harder and more dangerous to harvest. wild pokemon gather to lick the salt up, and they don't always take kindly to somebody else swooping in to grab it all.
