Day 28, Yokai Watch Team: My team from my first file/first playthrough of Yokai Watch
I chose to draw my first team because this was the team that helped me get into yokai watch more. I didn’t experiment that much with different yokai in my first playthrough like I did in my second playthrough but I can’t ignore what my first team has done for me.
My Thornyan Francis, named after the main character from Felidae, has been in my team the longest. He was a Jibanyan for a loooong time. He was pretty strong early on but when we were going through the Infinite Inferno he had a hard time doing a lot of damage and was instead taking a lot of hits not too well. At that point was when I decided to fuse him with Coughkoff to turn him into Thornyan which was a good decision. I also gave him a Tough Bell to help his attack power.
When I saw Baku before I got the game I knew they needed to be part of my team. No exceptions. I got them and named them Rosemary after my friend @rosemary-the-skunk because Baku has sharp teeth just like Rosemary and Baku is a monster and Rosemary loves monsters. They have always been a good team member by biting enemies and stealing bits of their health. They are still a decent fighter even during my trip to the Infinite Inferno. I gave them Turnabeads to boost their spirit and speed a bit.
Cecil, my N’more, was an interesting yokai to have on my team. I got him when he was a D’wanna and his design was cute so how could I not let him on the team? Despite him coming off like a lazy fuck he has been the most reliable teammate in my party. Healing anyone with low health like his life depended on it and his Soultimate move has helped me when I had some difficulties fighting tougher opponents. I eventually gave him a Heavenly sash so during battle his health could replenish a bit.
Badude was a must have for my team. When I first saw Roughraff I knew that I had to get him for my party and when I got one I named them Kuwabara. I could NOT name him after the orange haired delinquent Kazuma Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakuso (one of my fav anime growing up). He was and still is one of my toughest yokai. Early on, he took down foes pretty easily and was able to keep up with the rest of the party. When he evolved though he just got stronger and he hit HARD. But sadly not all of his attacks hit. He isn’t that fast but I mainly use him as extra muscle. I eventually gave him the Nail bat which is a powerful weapon for him increasing his strength by 50 but the cost is that it decreases his speed by 50. He is my slowest team member but I don’t really mind that since his strength makes up for it.
Vex, my Rageon was the one who really surprised me the most out of my whole team. I got him when he was a fishpicable and originally I was just going to only keep him in my team until he evolved because at the time I was doing that with some yokai I wanted to evolve. When I used him in battle he was able to handle the enemies quite well and he used electricity which was really useful. When he evolved though he got a lot more powerful with his attacks hitting harder which helped the fact he would hit multiple times and that his electric power got stronger too. I ended up keeping him and using him for the rest of the game. I gave him vampiric fangs to help him recover health when he would hit enemies.
And my last team member Rao, my Kyubi. I named him after the character that Ninetails posed as in Okami. I got him during post game (since that is the only time you can get him). I wanted him since I saw him during the construction site scene and when I got him I was happy. He is pretty strong, has great fire attack, and his moves never miss. But his defenses are not too great. I only use him if I need too. I gave him the Fiend Badge to help boost his speed higher than it already was.
So yesterday I finished Yokai Watch yaays! the last boss was a pain in the ass much similar to the one at the hospital talking about inspiriting and shit but finally made it to the teary ending!! overall it was an awesome game and I hope the rest of them arrive America, now i have a bunch of yokai left to befriend and quests to do so gotta continue with that :)
Btw shout out to N'more, my mvy in the team who saved everyone’s ass to the very end, love you bored old turtle thingy u3u
