There's something to be said about TPN's handling of its characters of color with Vincent's hero worship of Normanāfrom the comical fanaticism played for laughs to genuinely revering him as a godāespecially when considering this bit from the mystic code book:
And especially if the Lambda scientists made a point to tell him the reason he underwent horrific, inhumane experimentation was to attempt to reach the heights of the naturally gifted white boy, only for him to never make it to that level and be deemed lesser in their eyes.
