like it’s honestly depressing af sometimes being a queer + nonbinary fan of the game because of just how many stereotypes and prejudices seep through and show up in the main storylines.
but the thing is these relationships are *there*!! the potential for healing and connection is there!! like the members of the rfa genuinely feel like a family and have so many different forms of love for each other, but cheritz never used it to tell their stories, or never used it *enough*.
but the tumblr fan art and headcanons give it LIFE. like seriously, y’all are taking this very flat, one-dimensional time-period-restricted game and making it vibrant, and three-dimensional, and INTERESTING and wonderful.
idk, i just used to be so shamed for openly being a fan or a “fangirl” of anything really, that to be able to see with open eyes how the creativity of my peers creates a new world from the decaying corpse of the old one is… quite magical, to be honest.

It had been days since you had seen Zen, and you found yourself wondering how you had contained yourself on the messenger when you first met Zen. You had heard his angelic voice ringing in your ears just hours ago, but you wanted to be wrapped up in his warmth and inhale his musty scent. You unlocked your phone- no new messages. Of course, he was probably sleeping. “Ugh!” You walked over to the sofa, but you saw Zen’s black hoodie draped over the couch.
You walked over and picked it up, hugging it close. His cologne lingered on it, making you miss him even more. You pulled it on over your head, feeling enveloped in his scent. Wrapping your arms around yourself, you closed your eyes, feeling empty and hollow without his strong arms around your body.
You opened your eyes seeing your purse hanging on the coat rack, and before your brain could react, you rushed over, throwing it over your shoulder and sliding on some sandals. Not caring to turn off the lights, you shut the door, making sure you at least locked it.
You looked at yourself in the rearview mirror, starting your car’s engine. Smiling, you drove off in the direction of Zen’s apartment. The city lights slipped by as your heart fluttered in anticipation. You finally pulled into the parking lot of his apartment, hurrying to his door. You knocked hard and loud, continuously figuring he was asleep. “I’m coming!” He sounded groggy, but at least it woke him up. You heard the locks click as he unlocked the door. “Why the hell-“You jumped into his arms, wrapping your legs around his waist and taking his lips into a much needed kiss.
Shocked, he pulled back “_ _ _?” You nodded your head and pressed your lips to his again as he turned you around and pulled the door shut. He sat down on the couch with you in his lap as you slipped your tongue into his mouth and ravished his mouth. Putting your hands on his face, you kissed him harder. “Mmm _ _ _, not that I don’t just absolutely love kissing you, but what are you doing here? It’s like two in the morning.” You turned red, realizing your actions were hasty. “I missed you. I needed to see you.” You smiled, caressing his cheek. “Needed to kiss you.” You leaned in, giving him a long peck, “needed to smell you,” you said as you tilted your head on his shoulder, “needed to be held by you.” He grinned.
“I missed you too, princess- H-hey, are you wearing my hoodie?!” You kissed his neck as you sat up. “You must’ve left it at my apartment. I just missed you so much that I put it on. It wasn’t enough, though. I just had to see you.” You searched his crimson eyes, “Oh my god, you are so stinking cute!” He kissed your cheek and rubbed his nose against yours as he gave you another peck. “I don’t know why the universe gave me you, but now that you’re here. I’m not letting you go, not ever.” You grinned. “Good because I’m not letting you go either.”
He held on to your rear end as he stood up. “Where are we going?” He chuckled. “To bed, silly, it’s late, and I have a rehearsal tomorrow, but you’re going to sleep in that hoodie. He climbed in next to you and pulled you close as he placed you in bed. Finally, feeling his arms around you and feeling his warmth put your heart at ease, instead making it fill with love and happiness. “I love you, Zen.” He smiled, combing his fingers through your soft hair. “I love you too.” He kissed your nose. “Go to sleep,” He said as he poked your sides then pulled you even closer, holding you tight as you both fell into a comfortable sleep.
