Started yesterday by dragging myself out of bed, getting showered and dressed, and doing my zoom yoga class... then immediately got sent to bed by mum cause I looked fit to keel over! Spent the rest of the day in bed. Even did my palliative care appointment in bed; the advantages of telehealth! We’re pretty sure my UTI is a full blown kidney infection. I felt rough as yesterday, but thankfully I’m starting to feel more human now I’ve had 48 hours antibiotics. I just have to be patient and let my body heal as best it can. Because if my crappy immune system I need 2 weeks antibiotics standard, so in a fortnight we’ll retest my pee to see if it’s clear or not. Mam sat in the armchair next to my bed all day; she said it was like being back in the good old days when I was a teenager and bed was where I spent most of my time and days. It reminded me that those days weren’t all bad ❤️ there was always a lot of love and laughter ❤️ After having my tea in bed on a tray, mum and Emma played cards and connect four with me, and we had such a laugh! Despite feeling poorly, yesterday was a better day for my mental health. Knowing my increase in pain is because of an infection, knowing it’s finite and will ease, makes it easier to bear. And I’ve had so many lovely messages of wonderful friends exactly when I needed them ❤️ I just gotta keep going, and keep looking for the good bits 💛 #palliativecarewarrior #mybladderisalittlebitch #kidneyinfectionssuck #bediswhereilive #myfamilyarethebest https://www.instagram.com/p/CJ-1pcKBR6G/?igshid=1x6i7m1o5wmn2
