#my2020

2020 has been...wild. Not just globally, but for me personally. My family life changed dramatically, I grew as a person, I had new experiences... There was a lot of stressful, bad stuff in there, but good things happened too. There’s stuff I can look back at with fondness, despite the events they’re surrounded by. I laughed and smiled. When the bad stuff hit, I cried. But I made it through, and I’m really proud of myself for that. 

A lot happened this year.

I had a quick onset of the flu on New Year’s Day and was bedridden for days.

I went back to college to continue my degree.

I got my first job outside of the family business, at the morally and ethically grayest Dippin’ Dots ever.

On that note, I somehow managed to earn my boss’s respect, despite how he hate’s people and I annoyed him into hiring me by going up the kiosk every week for a month to ask if they were hiring.

My horse, Cimmaron, died suddenly. He was over 20 years old.

I finished my second round of physical therapy.

I started therapy with a new therapist, whom I’m still seeing and like more than my last counselor.

I started addressing my trauma and working towards closure.

I met a chaotic duo whom I love dearly.

I realized not every part of my relationship with my parents is healthy and started figuring out what to do about it.

I got really close to my Mimi.

I started working on boundaries with my parents.

My family went into quarantine.

My family’s relationships and dynamic severely shifted and got strained.

My mom got a puppy and named her Wendy, after Wendy Darling from Peter Pan.

I saw Comet Neowise.

I bought art from some of my favorite artists for the first time.

I got diagnosed with ADHD.

I reconnected with an old, online friend.

My counselor confirmed my suspicion that I have some form PTSD.

I finished my fall semester with my 4.0 intact.

I got closer with both of my brothers.

I turned 21.

Boy howdy, but it has been a year. So much so that I felt the need to dig up this meme so I can lavish myself with a little TLC, ‘cause you know what? I deserve it! And so do you. This year has been tough, and even in the best of times it can be a real struggle to remember that, instead of being your own worst enemy, you should strive to be your best cheerleader. Remember to be kind instead of cruel, to forgive rather than condemn yourself. Creativity is hard, and it is always a journey, never a final destination, so let’s take a moment and sight-see where we’ve been this year, yeah???

I was tagged by @mandalorianess, which I really appreciate, because otherwise I wouldn’t have looked back at what I was able to do this year, and see how different it had been. And see how fandom wise it wasn’t different in a bad way.

When I joined tumblr in 2011 or 2012(I don’t remember exactly...), I was in the OUAT fandom, being head over heels about Regina and also Lana Parrila, who played her. I remember how desperate I was to be heared, to fangirl over things with people, who loved the same characters, ships that I did. I always tagged, but it felt like noone was listening. 

I also remember how sad I was for having so few followers. When I became brave enough, I started to write prompts and fics on ff.net. In the end I was lucky to become friends with some fellow fans, I felt supported. I made some pleasant memories. But as I look back, it was so hard. It took years. 

I think the reason it all happend that way was because I was different, and also because it was a bigger fandom.

It’s been a year since I post, reblog, love The Mandalorian/Caradin/Cara Dune/Gina Carano here on tumblr. It isn’t exclusively that theme, but the people, who share my interest and love in the above have been so very supportive for quite some time now! 

I have to say that I started to post different things too. I have a few WIPs, but haven’t posted a fic this year (those poor people in the OUAT fandom, who had been reading my stories, and haven’t got an end, I am so sorry...maybe in the near future?).

I got a camera last Christmas+Birthday(finally, I couldn’t believe it), and I always loved LEGOs, have a lot of STAR WARS sets(and so many others too), and I thought that maybe I could try to take quality photos of my beloved characters in LEGO. And I made some, and never got so many notes.

I also tried to do quote posts of Gina, that was also new fore me. Or I just put my few word thoughts under pics or gifs as I used to, for Regina/OUAT, only this time, I got notes on them.

I don’t know. Maybe I became more entertaining. 

What it metters though is that it feels great! So thank you for every one of you reblogging, liking, commenting on my posts!

In which Cara and Din give Grogu a bath, as LEGO minifigures. They are so cute. I figured I like to create cute and fluff in LEGO.

Because I couln’t choose. This was a request from @redheadedteatotaler I really liked, that’s why it has three chapters... Baby yoda made friends with Baby Groot and they had a slumber party supervised by Din and Cara. In LEGO.

She talks about being an introvert several times during this event. I was surprised and also could relate to her. I thought people should know.

4, Best Spacedad

Just Din being the brave dad he is, fighting stormtroopers between lightning giant vines. Holiday piece with sneaky Grogu. In LEGO.

Happy New Year!

My 2020

Mar, we went in the first lockdown. The only outing we had was to go to the field, playing frisbee. I realised that how much I enjoyed it.

July, virus went into some sort of summer hibernation. Visiting Blenheim Palace become our only trip outside the village.Aug, my bike was fixed. Instead of travelling outside the country, I travelled outside my village on my little bike. 

Sep, moon day arrived. I went out for my daily walk and encountered a delightful family concert. several neighbours came out and enjoyed the music. I spotted hand gel and masks on the site. 

Oct, no matter how difficult it could get, Halloween was not to be skipped. We still had pumpkin light and skeleton for the spirit.

Nov, best festive season of the firework. We played a board game and watched fireworks from the window.
