sometimes I try to convince myself that I was mentally stable last summer while working inside a 400 acre wooded state park where the only lights at night were the stars and the reflections of your car headlights in the eyes of 20 million deer, while living inside the park in what used to be the old stable. and then I remember that by halfway through the summer I was leaving the last bites of my dinner on a plate beside a specific wall in my bedroom overnight because it felt like the wall was satisfied with that and because if I didn’t I’d have dreams of gigantic shadow creatures coming out of the wall and standing over me so it was necessary to feed the wall every day or else. anyways
