This bill was brought to my attenion by @sneepity-snoop-snorpity-sneep in a reblog on another post of mine. I wasn't able to caption all of the screenshotted text they included in their addition, so I felt unable to reblog it. They brought up several incredibly good points and mentioned a proposed piece of legislation that I had not yet heard about. They also raised concerns about the ways that efforts by the Trump Administration to target passports will compound the danger of the SAVE Act. This is a very, very important topic. I know it is something that has been discussed largely by transgender people in many spaces I am in since the beginning, but it extends far beyond those who are directly targeted by executive orders and other more blatant laws. Staffing cuts, data leaks, and apparent instances of impersonation to damage the validity of passports as a form of identification are one more reason to be as loud about voter suppression bills as you can be. It is scary, especially when our voices go unheard and it feels like our actions are not taken seriously by those who represent us

Summary of S.3283 - 119th Congress (2025-2026): Exclusive Citizenship Act of 2025
The legislation – S 3283, the Exclusive Citizenship Act of 2025 – is a very disturbing bill that, if passed, would disallow dual citizenship in the United States. This would have several incredibly devastating consequences for millions of Americans. One consequence of note that is not immediately apparent is the effect that this would have on the population of eligible voters in the United States, especially if proposed voter suppression laws like the SAVE Act were to be passed. I want to make it clear that the chances of S 3283 being passed are very, very slim. According to GovTrack, a website that uses a variety of methods to determine how likely a bill is to pass into law in the US, it has roughly a 3% chance of passing. The bill is authored by a single Senator, and only has one co-sponsor. Neither of the two are in the Senate Judiciary Committee where the bill needs to be scheduled for a hearing. This bill will likely never be scheduled in committee. That said, it still doesn't hurt to reach out and let your legislators know that you want them to oppose this bill in the case that it ever comes up. Let them know you are opposed to measures like this
Below, I will provide a call script that can double as an email template demanding your legislators vote against S 3283 or any legislation that threatens dual citizenship should it come before them

I am reaching out today to demand that [Representative/Senator blank] speak out to oppose efforts by their peers to threaten dual citizenship in the United States. Dual citizenship is one of the things that makes America what it is: a land of many peoples. Senator Moreno has introduced legislation to take away that building block out our great country. I expect the [Representative/Senator] to vocally oppose that legislation – S 3283, the Exclusive Citizenship Act of 2025 – if it ever comes before them for a vote. I also expect them to oppose any other attempts to dismantle our country's colorful, wonderful history by threatening dual citizenship.
[If calling] Thank you for your time and consideration. Have a good day.

By now, it feels like old news that the Trump Administration openly admitted to having DOGE employees illegally leak Social Security data in attempts to prove 2020 election interference. Given everything happening when this information came out, I have seen less push by many of the groups that I follow to hound Congress over this news. There are currently court proceedings surrounding the leaks, but giving your legislators (especially if they are, like mine, humoring Trump's continued claims about voter fraud in 2020) an earful about this might not be a bad idea
New court documents reveal even more ways DOGE improperly accessed and shared sensitive personal data last year — and how that data appears
Below, I will provide a call script that can double as an email template demanding your legislators in Congress speak out against the actions of DOGE employees, the Executive branch granting those employees the ability to cause such damage, and begin Congressional oversight hearings on this matter

I am reaching out today to demand that [Representative/Senator blank] loudly and openly condemn the Executive Branch's handling of the Department of Government Efficiency – also known as DOGE – that allowed for the leaking of Social Security information on millions of Americans in a zealous attempt to please the President by finding or fabricating evidence of election fraud. The [Representative/Senator] needs to begin pursuing Congressional Oversight actions in regards to this situation. Additionally, I would ask that the [Representative/Senator] immediately denounce all efforts by the current administration to claim mass voter fraud in the United States. Many counties have, on their own choice, looked into these matters and shown that there isn't any such problem. The Executive Branch using such claims to escape culpability for their actions is shameful, and anyone who supports such claims cannot be trusted to hold a position of power in this country any longer.

In August of 2025, following pardons by Trump, 2 January 6th insurrectionists were granted restitution for the trials and convictions they faced. On the 5th anniversary of the January 6th coup, several of the insurrectionists – who are now walking free because of Trump – went to the cite of the insurrection to demand more from Trump. They all want restitution for their sentencing. It is unclear at this time if such a thing will happen, but the tone needs to be set about this now. These people cannot be allowed to make such demands without a public fuss about it
On the five-year anniversary of Jan. 6, some of the rioters pardoned by Trump on his first day back in office returned to the Capitol.

I am reaching out today to demand that [Representative/Senator blank] vocally oppose not only the pardoning of those involved in the January 6th Insurrection, but the more recent restitution that they are demanding. These people tried to overthrow our country's democratic process. They cannot be paid for such actions, even if they no longer have to face consequences for their violence. [If you know any particularly good details about your legislator's actions during the coup, perhaps refresh them on that here if their current stance on things has changed*].

* For instance, videos of one of my senators went viral following the coup. He is a very anti-government, supposedly macho Republican from Oklahoma. There are several videos from inside the chamber that day of him sobbing in a fetal position between the rows of chairs. He has since tried to claim that any statements about it being a violent coup or even a riot were overblown Democratic propaganda. I intend to remind him of this every time January 6th comes up

It isn't new that there are political attacks on long-used, tried and true medications. Especially ones linked to the reproductive health of individuals who can become pregnant. Yet again, the Republican party is attempting to justify their backwards, bigoted ideals by obscuring and misrepresenting facts. The US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions (HELP) held a hearing on January 14th, 2026, to "expose the dangers" of chemical abortion medications. As soon as this hearing was announced, healthcare professionals and reproductive rights advocates all began predicting that, rather than providing any new information about the safety or efficacy of chemical abortion medications, the HELP Committee would simply restate debunked facts that they always flock to. And, that was exactly what they did. The hearing was used as a tool to begin efforts to roll back current guidelines in the US that allow mifepristone to be prescribed via telehealth and sent via mail. At the moment, there isn't any action that can be taken in terms of specific legislation surrounding this. The FDA is "investigating" and "reassessing" their current guidelines. What can be done, however, is telling your legislators in Congress that you will not stand for the tendency of the Republican party to rely on junk science to support claims that they cannot get through on principle alone. This is far from the only situation where this has been the case, but it is one of the most recent

I am reaching out today to demand that [Representative/Senator blank] condmen the growing tendency of Republicans in Congress to cherry pick data and use misleading, outdated, or scientifically flawed studies to try and support ideological or political opinions in policy making. When the creation of policy relies on data, it is not the place for ideological arguments. The Republican party is making a habit of using "junk science" – as President Trump is so fond of saying – to make policy that goes against evidence and reason. [[For Republican legislators] If the [Representative/Senator's] reason for trying to make legislation is ideological or political, please tell them to say that. They need to stop trying to mislead people into believing that there are other reasons for the policies they push. They should hold their peers to that standard, as well.]

Among his numerous barely-sensical ravings at Davos, Trump openly claimed that the 2020 US election was rigged and that steps are being taken to prosecute those involved. This is the type of talk that Congress cannot be allowed to ignore, especially Republicans in Congress
"People will soon be prosecuted for what they did," Trump said. "That's probably breaking news.”

I am reaching out today to demand that [Representative/Senator blank] immediately and loudly condemn President Trump for claiming, at a gathering of national leaders, that he intends to prosecute Americans for participating in election interference that his White House refuses to provide concrete evidence of here in the US. These claims make our country look weak on the world stage, at a time when we cannot afford that. I demand that the [Representative/Senator] refuse to humor any talk of interference in the 2020 Presidential election unless there is actual evidence provided that hasn't been tampered with by a clearly biased DOJ.
