I find the "historically accurate women" argument very similar to what people say about teenage girls in media. I simply do not care about your argument. And this girl having elite combat skills she uses to fight aliens is Very Cool and I will be taking it at face value.
there's this real tendency to excuse unrealistic stuff in otherwise realistic settings when it comes to male protagonists being cool but not when women do anything. probably the same people who would get mad about a teenage girl having elite combat skills would be just fine if it was a random white guy with the same unexplained talent
Stardew Valley in general has a lot of racism sprinkled in it that goes unacknowledged both by the developer and by fans. You mentioned the war thing, but also the fact that everyone but two of the town residents are white, the lore of the dwarves and shadow people is kinda weird too, or the entire post game campaign where you go to a deserted island and turn it into a place for the residents to visit?
the lack of diversity is pretty pathetic. when concernedape said he was adding new marriage options earlier this year I was like "this could be a great way to introduce new characters who aren't white" but then it was just clint and sandy. feels like there's a lot of opportunities to do better that aren't taken. at least he patched out the big frog's accent

how would you write a season like jurassic parkcure
my first thought is I would rip off tokyo mew mew but the more I’m thinking about it, the more I think I would rip off star twinkle precure. that show had a theme of space and aliens, which are science-coded and therefore unfortunately boy-coded. but it takes a very fantasy styled approach to space travel. I would do a cute and fantastical take on dinos that emphasizes animal care
every girl should get a mysterious egg that hatches into a little baby dino. execs would definitely tell me girls wouldn’t want to buy toys of creatures with no fur but guess what. a lot of baby dinos probably had feathers so you can sell an adorable little pink puffball of a raptor that loves to be brushed. then ichthyosaur is basically a dolphin with scales and girls love dolphins so that’s your blue cure sorted. finally you round out with a yellow or purple girl who has a baby pterodactyl. I’m picturing that the pterodactyl can change the color of its wings like a chameleon for no scientific reason and you buy a toy with clear wings that you can draw on with markers. the baby dinos would grow up to at least one more stage over the course of the show and that would unlock form changes for the girls, either a partner bond like healin good precure or a fun add-on anyone can use like wonderful precure. also there’s an electronic toy that is like a “temporal controller” and the henshin device that the characters use to scan the dinos but the real toy would just have ar games
pink girl is to dinos what hikaru was to space, she just loves em so much. her mom or cool aunt is a paleontologist and she got to go on digs a couple times. since she knows so much about real dinos she sometimes gets tripped up by the fantasy dino fairies. I can’t remember if there’s been a competitive swimmer precure but that’s what I would choose for blue girl. generally serious but has some good comedy moments bc she only knows or cares about swimming. and the final girl is like a head in the clouds artist
