(Shit post: poem 2 (also, I’m not dead!!)
My Darkest Vow
Beneath the moon that drinks the light,
Where shadows cling and stars take flight,
I found the soul that matches mine –
A rose that blooms where ivy twines.
Your laugh cuts through the midnight chill,
Your touch makes broken things stand still;
You see the dark I keep concealed,
And love the parts I thought were sealed.
No gilded rings nor grand display,
Just this: through dusk and decay,
Through every storm that tears the sky,
I’ll hold you close until I die.
When marble marks our final rest,
When all the world is put to test,
My heart still beats one truth alone –
You are my home, my own, my own.
From this hour, my hand you’ll take,
For all my days, my vow I make:
My dark, my light, my life, my wife –
You are the pulse that gives me life.
