hello hello! omg so where do i begin. i recently became totally infatuated with Charlie, and have been going through his filmography whenever i can. i watched Green Street Hooligans last week, and fell so in love with Pete, more than any of his other characters so far! he is just so handsome - the buzzcut, the outfits, his devil-may-care confidence and that boyish charm ahhh i can go on and on. anyway, i did not even bother checking Pete fanfics here bc i thought he would be a bit too niche. then i came across your blog from a Jax fanfic, checked your masterlist and you could imagine my UTTER delight when i saw Pete fanfics! itβs like you satisfied a deep craving. you write so so beautifully. and especially βLike My Dreamsβ, i was needing a fanfic where the events in the movie happened but without the ending (which broke me to pieces) and you wrote just THAT, and it was SO good. you really did deepen my love for Pete and iβm gonna keep rereading them! i will also be reading the rest of your masterlist. i hope you can write another chapter to βLike My Dreamsβ bc itβs so perfect and my heart is literally crying for more but itβs totally upto you!! please just know you made a Pete Dunham girly so so happy the past couple of days. First of all, a big welcome to you to this Charlie-loving world. It's so fun and amazing here. He truly has blessed us with everything he does and I'm so happy that you're taking the time to go through his works! It's hard to choose favourites because everything he does is just incredible, but falling for Pete is definitely a great place to land π
Everything you described about him is exactly the reasons he deserves to be loved and adored. This character has so many layers that we were lucky enough to get to see in the film, and using fanfic as a way to explore more of that is such a joy.
You're right in the fact there aren't many fics out there for him, although I feel recently there's been a resurgence of popularity and I have seen the odd blog creating lots of stories for him as well!
Like My Dreams basically wrote itself the second I finished watching Green Street for the first time. It wrecked me and to this day I still have only watched it in its entirety a handful of times (within the hundreds I've watched it π) because it's too painful. I needed something for myself that changed what happened so I could completely ignore and deny it and alas... my baby LMD exists.
I am just in awe that you found it, read it and enjoyed it so much that you plan to reread the posted chapters π₯Ήπ I assure you there will be more, it's just a matter of going with what my muse wants to write and sadly that story has been neglected for too long. Please know that this message (and the other one you sent omg I'm crying you're too kind π) has sparked some inspiration in me and has me excited to work on it again. There is so much more in store for Pete in this story and I am so happy to have someone else who is eager for it. I think about it all the time and I miss immersing myself in London, in the Abbey and in Pete's flat with him and the other lads.
You've got me crying so many happy tears right now and please know that you came at a time when I've been going through a writers block and experiencing some major doubts about what I do here... so shouting it from the rooftops with love that is from the bottom of my Pete-loving heart...
