Something you need to remember is that journalistic photographers are still artists at heart. When you are providing a source of information that is to be seen as "the truth" you are going to frame things to look a certain way.
You will publish the ones that look like what you want. The framing of Luigi Mangione's transportation is incredibly evocative of paintings of Jesus being arrested. It also (not so) coincidentally is often the framing of a hero being captured for the greater good.
This is ON PURPOSE. Do not discredit the artist by calling it a mistake. This was on purpose. The artist supports him and is framing him as a hero.
No matter how much corporate news may attempt to drown out the support for Mangione, artists always have the ear of the people. A picture is worth a thousand words, isn't it?
BOOTLEG PART 2 - Bootleg Reflections
The first bootleg comic blew wayyy up on Reddit and started a whole trend of everyone making bootleg comics for a bit. I kinda felt conflicted over the whole thing tho, I don't want to abuse the algorithm/stick with what gets popular just so I can get easy likes
THIS ONE WAS ANOTHER COLLAB WITH MY IRL FRIEND JASMINE EVERYONE SAY HI TO HER

Crazy that Izumi called her employee at the meat shop and said something to the effect of, "Hey, I know I'm only giving you a couple hours notice but I've got two kids that I'm going to ditch in Yock Island for a month to test them, could you hide there and watch over them covertly to make sure they don't die. I'll pay you extra if you also put on a komainu mask and terrorize the shit out of them." And then Mason, the otherwise completely normal butcher's assistant, was like, "How did you know this was my life's dream," and went off to live in the wilderness and attack children for thirty days and nights.

I’m not old enough to really remember the beginning of the war in Iraq, but lots of people who were are sounding the alarm about the propaganda going around right now. It’s called “manufacturing consent,” and it’s used to tip a population’s opinion in favor of an action by their government.
They’ll tell us whatever they need to in order to get us to go along with their goals, so we need to make sure we’re looking into claims before we spread them around online— even if they seem to support our current beliefs.
I really hope the success of the Heated Rivalry show is the start of a renaissance re: sex scenes adding to characterization rather than just being treated like a ‘treat’ for the audience or controversy bait. Because explicit scenes are actually so good at building the narrative when the writer knows what they’re doing!
And once you have a show or series that does it well, it’s super easy to spot when sex scenes aren’t being used that way. They feel jarring and even out of character— more like non-sequiturs meant for shock value than natural parts of the narrative.
This show has really raised my standards, ngl. Give me more narrative-cohesive sex scenes in 2026, please!
