born and raised in oslo, norway, nina is the daughter of kristoffer haugen, chairman and CEO of a multinational luxury goods conglomerate. as his only child, she is also the sole heir to the corporations (see bernard arnault)

her mother died when she was 12 in a car accident which nina survived. after that, her father became more distant and she was left in the care of nannies

the moment she finished high school, she had this plan to jump universities and countries for each year in college. she spent her freshman year in spain and her sophomore year in italy

she was initially supposed to study in london for her junior year, but after the string of lawsuits filed against her father and his company, he put his foot down and made her go to a lesser known place in the US to continue her education

until now, nina has no idea what the specifics are of the cases against her father. somehow, the media is also kept in the dark even though she knows the battles still aren’t over

Personality

she’s quick-witted and charming, but can be emotionally detached. she’s a thinker and doesn’t really let her heart lead. she may succumb to her whims from time to time, but even if it’s not that obvious, she’s actually thought it all through

she’s fun and is an adventurous party girl. she lives quite the lavish lifestyle and loves spontaneity. she’s friendly, but can also be intolerant and argumentative. quite a thick skin would be necessary, because she doesn’t always mince her words

she’s also advocacy-oriented and generous. even though she’s a business major, she takes after her mom and has a heart for the arts and humanities. there is an obvious disparity between her principles and her way of life, which she mostly manages to ignore but it’s harder now with her father’s situation and the fact that she’s in a less-elite environment

it may not be incredibly obvious, but nina can be really sweet and loyal. her love language is acts of service and once you’ve got her trust, she’s a ride or die type of gal
