The man... #vangogh #mussedorsay #paris🇫🇷

Paris
You may well be wondering why the hell I have posted a Sophie Ellis-Bextor song on my blog.
Well last weekend I decided to make the trip from Bordeaux to visit the capital.
Due to only deciding about a week before, the cheapest transport was going to go by covoiturage, which resulted in a 6 hour journey each way.
On the way there Dimitri and his Audi was my host. At only 22 years old, a lot of people I'd told came to the conclusion that he was definitely some sort of hit man but fortunately Dimitri was no serial killer.
In the car with Dimitri and myself was two of his friends and a fellow covoiturager. Once they discovered (very early on due to my accent) that I was English, the journey resulted in me explaining lyrics from their favourite songs to them. Hence the video. Hearing 3 French people singing this song as loud of possible was not my idea of a fun journey to Paris. At least Dimitri was harmless though.
Arrived in Paris where Kieran met me and we took the metro to his. He assured me that he had only seen ticket inspectors a couple of times and never at his stop. After taking his advice that buying a ticket wouldn't be necessary, I had a nice surprise at Michel-Ange Auteuil station. A €45 fine.
Saturday was a tourist filled day...
... after seeing the Eiffel Tower we walked along the Seine to Musée d'Orsay where we saw a masculine exhibit, which showed a lot more than the posters outside the museum suggested.
Afterwards we made our way to the Louvre, took some more photos...
... and then went to Montmartre to get some lunch and went to the Sacré-Coeur to admire the view.
The next stop was the Christmas market on the Champs-Élysées for a vin chaud and walked all the way up to the Arc de Triomphe.
After having a pasta bake for dinner which was an absolute luxury due my lack of oven in Bordeaux, we went out with some other people from Notts in République.
After a night which included an €11 rum and coke and kebab, we got the night bus back to the 16ème where a mec got in an argument with a fellow mec because he didn't get a fork with his kebab. Putain.
Sunday began with going to Notre-Dame ...
... and then we went to the Marais for an amazing falafel
My weekend ended with a covoiturage from Seb. It also resulted in me having my first full McDonald's meal since coming to France. After having my €8.10 double cheesebagel meal (yes you can get bagel burger in France) en route, I was back in Bordeaux ready to give lessons on the London Underground on Monday.
