@multusxcastalides. alistair ;
she had been meaning to give him the amulet since right after they left redcliffe, but it slipped her mind. killing connor had been a difficult decision and alistair was very vocal --- afterwards --- about how upset it made him. they talked about it and, after a while, things seemed to be okay. what troubled lily the most about it was that she couldn’t really bring herself to regret that decision, not when all those people were dying and suffering at the hands of the demon living inside of him.
still. she killed a child... and she hated herself for it. she hated howe for it --- if not for what he had done to her family, lily wouldn’t even be there. she never would have had to bloody her hands with the life of an innocent. every single life she took was another life on his tab.
enough, she thought to herself. snap out of it. they were making camp again. it looked like they were close enough to haven, at least, that they wouldn’t need to rest another day before getting there. still, she seized the opportunity to approach him. ❝ alistair. ❞ morrigan and leliana were not close enough that they could hear them, and they were busy making their own tents. ❝ i forgot to give you this. ❞ she didn’t want to feel so awkward around him.
truth was alistair was one of the few people lily LIKED. maybe even more than just a friend at that point --- which was so absurd considering their situation. he was... good. in a world of wicked people, he was a truly good man, if a bit lost and naive. ❝ i found it in a drawer in arl eamon’s study, i think? i was looking for something else when we were... ❞ don’t mention connor now. ❝ i remembered you talked about it. your mother’s amulet? then one you threw at the wall? i think it’s this one... seems like it’s fixed. ❞
