Moving in with Sam had been strange but nice; it was nice to not be alone, y’know? They had settled in together pretty well with minimal bickering ( which is always a plus ), so when he comes home with a pure white cat in one arm and a starbucks in another, he doesn’t think twice about what Sam might have to say about it, sipping at the drink in hand casually like he didn’t just adopt a cat.

“So how weird is it having two friends with once villainous alter egos that are separate personalities? Cause surely it must be weird.” Even though both Alchemy and Frost were created through different means, it’s still strange in his opinion.

“Does it make you feel better if I told you if I had to choose between you and Queen I’d choose you?”

fingers pinch at the bridge of his nose and he sighs, out loud. he sounds as frustrated as he feels. this isn’t going as well as he’d hoped it would, he’s been trying to figure out this placement for hours and nothing is working. he turns around in his chair, greeted immediately by HR. “uh- can i help you with something, HR?”

“Eddie...” her voice i soft but carries a lot of feeling, a heaviness in her heart as she stepped closer, “We all mourned you. Barry still blames himself for what happened.” And despite everything that had happened in the years since what had happened, she still missed him deeply.

His head is still throbbing but not nearly as bad as his ribs. And he swears the pain intensifies when he hears Crusher’s voice. He swallows heavily and gets to his feet, taking a couple of steps backwards from the other. “C’mon Crusher, let me lick my wounds in peace.. Please.” He sounds pathetic when he pleads for Crusher to leave him alone and he feels the same way because part of him is still in love with the man who kicked his ass.
