A/N: This is pure flirty fluff, I think we’ve all earned it! Also, I didn’t initially plan on making this poly but I couldn’t stop these three hoes from flirting with each other, enjoy!
***
“He flirts with you every time we go in there.” Luke smirks, shoving his hands into his coat pockets to protect himself from the cold. “I’m telling you, he’ll say yes if you ask him out.”
You roll your eyes. This argument comes up every now and again and you’re getting tired of repeating yourself. “It’s too early for this, Luke.” You groan. “There’s no way the cute barista has any interest in me, it’s probably you, he fancies.”
There’s a mountain of proof to back up your argument. Michael, your regular barista at the cafe you visit on the way to work every day, often stares at your best friend when he thinks no one is watching and has even drawn the odd love-heart on his paper cup. Of course Luke had argued that he must do that to everyone, because you’ve had your fair-share of cute little doodles from him as well.
Luke nudges you playfully with his shoulder. “If it was me he was flirting with, he’d have been mine a long time ago.” He winks, although you don’t miss the way that he blushes at the thought of the beautiful blonde barista. “Just bite the damn bullet and ask him out. It’s almost Christmas! Loads of new romances happen around this time of year.”
“If he’s that interested in me, why doesn’t he make the first move?” You counter, trying to hide your own blushing cheeks in the folds of your oversized scarf. “Besides, it should be me giving you this advice! It’s you he wants, not me.”
Your best friend scoffs, ignoring your last comment in favour of continuing his original argument. “He’s been trying to make the first move, dummy!!” Luke explains in an exasperated tone. “You just don’t know how to take compliments or flirt back, so he doesn’t know if you’re interested or not.”
Luke’s theory is entirely plausible. You’ve never been the best at either of those things and it’s cost you dearly in the romance department in the past. No end of your potential dates have ended up with someone else because you've been; either oblivious to their attraction towards you, or too nervous to encourage them or ask them out yourself. The fact that you’ve always had a secret, underlying attraction towards Luke, may have also played a part in those missed opportunities, but you refuse to dwell too much on that. “Well, I…”
“Just fucking ask him out, or I’m going to do it for you.” Luke interrupts as he stops outside the coffee shop doors. “I mean, what’s the worst than can happen?”
“Umm, I could embarrass myself spectacularly because his most likely reply will be ‘oh, this is awkward, I’m kind of more interested in your dumb, lanky friend!’” You reply quickly. “Then we’d have to find a new place to buy coffee every morning and that would suck.”
Luke chuckles, holding your shoulders and gently forcing you to look him in the eye. “The worst that can happen in this scenario, is that you’ll go on a date with a cute guy. Even if you don’t get along all that well, I’ll call you with a fake emergency, you leave and you never have to see him again.”
Despite the warmth and kindness in Luke’s voice, you’re a little annoyed that he’s entirely missing the point. “Can’t we just leave this alone and continue to admire him from a distance, it wouldn’t be fair to make him choose between us anyway.”
For a moment, you expect Luke to argue but he simply pouts. “Fine, be dateless, you can’t say I haven’t tried!”
You slap Luke playfully on the arm before you reach past him to open the door. As you step inside the cosy little cafe, familiar nervous butterflies spring to life in your tummy. They multiply when the pretty barista looks up from the counter at the sound of the tinkling bell above the door. His handsome face lights up in a beaming smile as his green eyes meet yours. “Good morning!” He chirps, far too happily for this ungodly hour, in your opinion. “What can I get for you both today?”
It’s hard not to notice that sparkle in the barista’s eyes as he speaks. Maybe your best friend is right, perhaps Michael, does have a bit of a thing for you.
Thankfully the cafe is empty this morning, it’s still pretty early. You and Luke often try and beat the morning rush, it seems you’ve managed it today.
“We’ll have our usual please, Mike!” Luke responds, his tone unashamedly flirtatious, as always. “It’s okay if I call you that, right?”
The blonde man glances over at Luke, that sparkle of what you hoped was attraction, remaining firmly in place as his eyes land on your friend. “Sure.” He giggles. “I think it’s only fair that I finally get to put names to the faces of my two favourite customers in return, though.”
The sound of his little laugh only serves to make you fall even harder for this almost-stranger. As you watch him, his gaze drifts back to you and you subconsciously walk closer to the counter as you shyly tell him your name. “And you can just call him, idiot.” You add, jabbing your thumb in Luke’s general direction.
“Or you could call me your very favourite customer!” Your best friend interjects. “Because let’s face it, I’m a fucking delight to be around, especially this early in the morning. But if you want the boring answer, you’d probably better just stick to Luke.”
“I guess I should stick to your actual names.” Michael smirks, raising his eyebrows flirtatiously at each of you in turn. “At least for now…”
If Luke hadn’t tried so hard on numerous occasions to convince you that Michael was attracted to you, there wouldn’t be a single doubt in your mind that the barista was crushing on your best friend. As it turns out, you’re beginning to get incredibly confused as to who actually wants who at this point.
“For now?” Luke questions, leaning across the counter a little, intentionally brushing Michael’s fingertips with his own. “What would you like to call us, Mike?” He asks, his tone becoming so flirtatious and teasing that you struggle to know whether you should be more aroused or embarrassed.
Michael’s cheeks turn a pretty pink as he unwittingly allows his gaze to drift to Luke’s lips. “That would be telling…” He replies eventually, his tone as low and seductive as Luke’s.
“Okay…” You mutter awkwardly, “I think I should leave you two love birds, to it.”
Your words startle the men back to reality as they turn to you in unison, both of them babbling embarrassed apologies.
“It’s fine!” You insist, although your tone is definitely higher than you’d have liked. “You don’t have to apologise for being attracted to each other!” The words have left your mouth before you have a chance to stop them.
Michael awkwardly scratches the back of his neck, glancing between you and Luke with an almost guilty expression on his beautiful face. “Well I… Actually…”
“It’s okay!” Luke interrupts. “You don’t have to explain yourself, I know it’s not me you’re interested in, I just…”
“Are you kidding?” You laugh, there’s no way you’re allowing Luke to chicken out on this. If you can’t have either of these cute guys, they may as well have each other. “The sexual tension between you two is enough to make anyone blush, like - You need to hook up or something.”
Surprising both of you, Michael lets out a tiny nervous laugh. “I actually thought you two were a couple.” He admits shyly. “That’s why I never said anything but…”
“It’s fine!” You interject, “You’re not the first person to think that but he’s available, and he thinks you’re super hot, so you should definitely go out.”
“No way!” Luke screeches at you. “It’s the two of you that should be going out, Michael clearly wants you more than me…”
Michael swallows hard as he looks between you and Luke again. “Since we’re sharing, I think you’re both hot. I couldn’t decide who I was more jealous of when I thought you were a couple.” He giggles anxiously. “I wouldn’t want to cause any trouble between you, though. You two obviously have some unspoken ’thing’ going on.”
You automatically glance towards Luke, he meets your gaze instantly and an awkward silence stretches between the two of you. Your hidden feelings for Luke bubble closer to the surface than they ever have before. As much as you want to admit that you’re attracted to him, your feelings for Michael don’t seem to be going anywhere either.
“This is crazy.” Luke sighs, shaking his head, but there’s a ghost of a smile playing on his lips as he drops his gaze to the ground. “I can’t believe all three of us have been crushing on each other and no one has had the guts to make the first move.”
It takes a moment to process Luke’s words. The two beautiful men that you’ve secretly been carrying a torch for, not only like you back, but are attracted to each other as well.
“Maybe that’s how it was always meant to be.” Michael shrugs, interrupting your thoughts. “If you two had already been a couple or if I’d asked one of you out, maybe we’d have missed out on something even more special.” His tone is a little hesitant like he’s hinting towards something that he’s not sure you and Luke will approve of.
“You’re right.” Luke agrees, his tiny smile widening until it lights up his whole face. “There’s an easy solution to this, it’s just a little out of the ordinary, that’s all.” He takes a deep calming breath. “Okay, I’m just gonna do this.”
Even though you’re pretty sure you know what your best friend is going to say, there’s a part of you that’s incredibly nervous to hear it.
Luke turns to you, his blue eyes soft but sparkling with the kind of happiness you haven’t seen in them for a very long time. “Will you both go on a date with me on Friday night?” He asks, looking between the two of you hopefully.
Both you and Michael reply with an enthusiastic yes. You’re pretty sure that your smile rivals the brightness of those on the faces of your two biggest crushes.
“I really thought you were gonna ask us out separately.” Michael giggles, sounding quite relieved that that’s not the case. “I think this is a much better solution. I’ve never been on a three-way date before. I’m excited for it.”
“Me too.” You grin, still in shock of the whole situation. “We definitely need to eat somewhere cheap if just one of us is paying.”
Michael and Luke both laugh, regarding you fondly before sharing a soft moment of eye contact with each other. “We can figure that out.” Luke promises, “First thing’s first, though.” He pulls out his phone from his coat pocket. “We need your number, Mike.”
Michael takes Luke’s phone and types in his number before handing it back. You notice the way that their fingers brush as the phone is passed between them. Both men blush a little and you grow even more fond of them, if that’s at all possible. As much as you’d admired them both separately, together they’re on a whole other level and you can’t believe how lucky you are to be going on a date with them both.
“Okay.” Luke grins after a moment. “I’ve set up a group chat, we’ll arrange all the details later, yeah?”
You nod, taking out your own phone to add michael’s number to your contacts from the group chat. “I definitely think a coffee date is out of the question.” You giggle, hoping that your jokes aren’t coming across as too lame.
“Definitely!” Michael agrees before a slightly guilty expression takes over his face. “Shit, speaking of coffees, I really should make yours!” He turns his back to you and Luke as he busies himself making your drinks.
“Our date is pretty cute, huh?” You stage whisper, not hiding the fact that you’re checking out Michael’s ass. You always enjoy the days that he wears skinny jeans.
“Both of my dates are the hottest, I’ve ever had.” Luke agrees, also blatantly admiring Michael before turning his attention back to you. “I really think that Mike was right - this all happened for a reason and Friday will be more than worth the wait.”
Every fiber of your being seems to be glowing with excitement and you can’t help but agree with your dorky date. This feels incredibly ‘right’ and you can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Michael & Luke: "stop doing that tongue thing, its strangely attractive" (idk if that's the exact wording)
AHHHHH it’s been so long since I wrote 5SOS, I’ve missed it!
“Stop with the tongue thing, it’s strangely attractive.”
Luke rolled his eyes. “I can’t help it, Michael, it’s an unconscious habit of mine, I- wait, attractive?”
Michael smirked. “Yes, Lucas, attractive,” he chuckled. “We know you’re a golden-haired adonis and everything now, but the tongue thing. It’s just too much. You’ve got to leave some crumb for the rest of us.”
“Oh please,” Luke laughed, trying to hide the flush on his cheeks. “Cal and Ash do more than alright for themselves. And you, I mean… you’re getting married.”
“Exactly,” Michael tried to joke, but he noticed how Luke’s expression had fallen slightly at the mention of his impending marriage. He didn’t think it was serious enough to warrant a heart-to-heart with the man, but it was serious enough to not bring up Crystal for a little while. Instead, he cleared his throat and said, “Come on, we’ve got to pick up Ash and Cal to take them to the studio.”
Luke nodded and followed Mike out to the car, jumping into the driver’s seat before Michael could. “Hey!” Michael whined, “how come you never let me drive??”
“Because,” Luke teased, “one of us has never gotten a ticket. And it isn’t you.”
“They should have made that ‘No Parking’ sign clearer,” Michael grumbled, arms crossed like an angry toddler.
Luke laughed, sticking his tongue between his teeth.
“See, there you go again!” Michael complained. “God, why don’t you just get naked and start singing ‘Pour Some Sugar On Me’ while you drive? That would make the picture complete.”
Luke threw back his head and laughed harder, harder than Michael had heard him in a while. He pressed the “Engine Start” button (because they were just too rich for keys and ignitions now) and started onto the highway. The car was quiet, but not in an awkward way… at least not to Michael. Luke kept his attention on the road, but his subconscious was somewhere else. He hadn’t told Michael how this engagement was making him feel. How he felt like he’d been cast out of his best friends life. He and the others hadn’t even been part of the planning for the proposal- Michael had just said one day that he was going to ask Crystal to marry him. The next thing Luke knew, Crystal had a diamond ring on her finger, and Michael had made a giant leap without any of his brothers knowing. It was bothering him, and bothering him deeply.
“Luke,” Michael broke Luke out of his reverie. “you okay?”
At the red light, Luke looked down and say that his knuckles on the steering wheel had turned white. “I’m… I’m fine,” Luke stammered. “Just, um… just happens sometimes.”
“You’re a shit liar. Always have been.”
Luke sighed and pulled over, running his hand across his mouth. He had hoped he would never have to talk about this with Michael- he’d hoped he would get over it. But he hadn’t. And now Michael was finding out. “Okay. Okay. It’s just… it’s Crystal.”
“What about her?” Michael asked. His eyes grew wide. “Fuck me, you’re not in love with her are you?”
“NO,” Luke smiled in spite of himself. “No, Michael. I just… I’m just kind of having a tough time with the whole engagement thing, that’s all.”
Michael’s brows furrowed in concern. “A tough time? How?”
“I mean… what’s going to happen to us after you get married? We can’t be friends the same way we were before.”
“What are you talking about? Or course we wi-”
“No, Michael, it’s going to be different,” Luke said adamantly. “It already is. It-it feels like you’re drifting away already. It’s me, Calum and Ashton over here, and you’re off with Crystal and her friends. And I get it. You’re going to spend the rest of your life with her.” Luke cursed the tears that started to spring up in his eyes. “But you’re supposed to spend the rest of your life with us too.”
Michael looked at Luke with mouth agape. “Luke, I… I’m sorry, I had no idea it’s been this hard for you.”
“Why would you know?”
“Well that’s kind of in the best friend code,” Michael laughed softly as he placed his arm on Luke’s back and started to rub. “You’re right- things are going to be different,” he admitted as Luke swiped at his eyes angrily. “But you know what isn’t going to be different?”
“What?”
“How I feel about you. And Calum. And Ashton. The four of us… we are a family. And nothing. Wives, children, NOTHING is going to change that.”
Luke let out a watery laugh and unbuckled his seatbelt, leaning over to embrace Michael. “I love you, man.”
Michael squeezed Luke tightly and ruffled the top of his head. “I love you too.”
When Luke and Michael broke away from each other, they gave each other loving smiles, the kind of smile you can only give to someone who’s one of your closest friends. And as Luke threw on the radio and let the sounds of a random top 40 band fill the car… he knew. He and Michael and everyone were going to be okay.
Michael’s back was aching and his feet were frozen, but Luke was chattering on excitedly about the constellations as the two of them lay in the back of Michael’s pickup truck. He had been going on and on about this meteor shower for weeks and although Michael had pictured something a little more picturesque and romantic, he was still having the time of his life.
“That’s the big dipper right?” Luke asked, connecting the stars with his finger.
“Sure, love,” Michael responded, not even glancing up at the stars as he wrapped his arm tighter around Luke in an attempt to get warm.
“You’re not even looking at the stars!” The blonde boy pouted, turning to meet Michael’s gaze.
In the hopes of a few minutes more
“M’ too busy looking at you,” Michael cooed, grinning adoringly as Luke become flustered. He loved it when Luke became bashful around him, it was endlessly cute.
“We drove all the way out here to watch the constellations and you’re not even paying attention,”
“It’s not my fault you’re so mesmerizing,” Michael whispered, leaning in to brush his lips against Luke’s neck.
I’m about to make your sweat roll backwards
“The shower’s about to start,” Luke choked out. Michael smirked, loving the effect he had over the younger boy.
“I promise I’ll pay attention,” He said, turning his head to look up at the stars.
“Look there’s one right there!” Luke pointed up at the sky excitedly.
The two boys lay wrapped up together, watching the meteors streak across the sky. Michael snuck quick glances at Luke when he wasn’t looking, his heart swelling with love when he saw the amazed look on his boyfriend’s face.
And your heart beat in reverse
“Luke,” Michael whispered. Luke turned his head to face Michael, his heart skipping a beat when he saw the intense look on his face.
“Yeah?” He asked quietly. Michael placed his hands in Luke’s blonde curls and pulled him so close their noses brushed together.
They stayed like that for a moment, silently gazing into each other’s eyes. Somehow they knew exactly what the other was thinking. Michael leaned forward and closed the gap between them, kissing Luke passionately
‘Cause it’s never getting any better than this
“I love you Luke,” Michael confessed, resting his forehead on Luke’s.
Hello Laura!!! Can you do Muke getting a pet 😩😩😩😩 thanks 💖💖

A/N: This is my first ship fic for mikemonth! I hope you enjoy it.
…
“Don’t ruin this for me, you silly little fluff-balls!” Luke chuckles, placing the two tiny kittens into the open cardboard box that he’s covered in glittery wrapping paper. They both mew softly, staring up at up him with big, confused green eyes.
“Your new daddy will be home any second, so I need you stay quiet for me so you don’t ruin the surprise, okay?”
Of course the two tiny black kittens pay no attention Luke at all. They continue to meow and scrabble around the cardboard box. “I promise that you’ll have lots of cuddles and a big playtime once daddy Michael has met you. I just need you to be quiet for me until then, please.”
Concerned that his boyfriend will hear the kittens before he sees them, Luke decides to put on some music, hoping that it’ll drown out their little noises until he can present Michael with them. He asks his ‘Alexa’ to resume the last playlist he was listening to before placing the little box of kittens in the Kitchen.
The sound of crunching of gravel a moment later alerts Luke to the fact that Michael has arrived home. He quickly lights a couple of candles on the mantelpiece and takes the mug he’d left on the coffee table into the kitchen. He just has enough time to compose himself and paint a neutral expression on his face before the front door opens and closes.
“Hey babe, I’m home…” Michael calls from the hallway.
Luke checks on the kittens again one last time before heading into the hallway to greet his boyfriend. “Hey angel.” He smiles brightly, “I’m glad your home! How was Calum?”
Michael smiles brightly, toeing off his trainers before padding over to give his boyfriend a cuddle. “Cal’s good.” He replies, sounding a little tired. “We took Duke for a long walk, gossiped about Ashton, y’know.”
Luke laughs, cuddling Michael closely. “I bet I was gossipped about a little too, huh?”
Michael makes an innocent face. “Only about a specific part of you.” He replies, wiggling his eyebrows cheekily. “I still think Calum’s a tiny bit jealous of me, actually.”
The younger man’s cheeks grow pinker by the second as he playfully slaps Michael’s arm. “No way! If he’s jealous of anyone it’s me.”
“Nah, Cal has a thing for lanky blondes.” Michael teases, tilting his face up to press a kiss to Luke’s lips.
“You just described yourself, too.” Luke giggles. “Wait… Are we narcissists?” He asks, the smile dropping from his face slightly as he ponders the answer to his own question.
Michael shakes his head. “We’re definitely not. We look nothing alike.”
Before Luke can reply, the current song playing from the living room ends leaving a moment of silence during which a tiny meow drifts into the hallway from the direction of the kitchen.
“What was that?” Michael asks, his brow furrowing as he looks over in the direction the sound came from. “It sounded like…”
Luke curses himself for being so careless, he should have taken Michael into the living room right away. “It was nothing!” He insists, turning Michael away from the kitchen. “Why don’t you go and put your feet up, I’ll bring you in a beer and then we can make dinner, yeah?”
The slightly older man nods, aiming another suspicious glance towards the kitchen before allowing Luke to lead him into the sitting room. “I swear I heard something.”
“Why don’t you tell me more about your walk? Where did you go? I know Calum likes to take Duke to that dog park, did you go there?” Luke asks, trying to distract Michael so that his big surprise isn’t ruined.
Luckily, Michael is easily led and his face brightens in a smile. “Yeah! We saw the cutest little Labrador puppy, Luke, she was so adorable I wanted to bring her home with me.”
Luke giggles, “Well maybe one day we can get a puppy.” He rambles, “right now though, do you want a beer or a glass of wine?”
Michael ponders the question for a moment. “I think we have some wine left over from yesterday, I’ll have that please.”
Nodding, Luke waits for Michael to sit down and curl up with his phone before leaving the room. As soon as he reaches the kitchen, Luke heads over to the lidless, glttery box to check on the kittens. The two little black fluff-balls are curled up together in one corner. Luke falls in love with them both a little more as he reaches down to stroke them gently with the back of one finger.
“I forgot to tell you that…”
Before Luke can even register the fact that Michael’s voice sounds much closer than it should, the man in question trails off, leaving his sentence unfinished as his eyes find the box Luke is leaning over.
“You were meant to stay in the living room!” Luke whines, trying and failing to hide the box by spreading his arms and crouching further over it.
“What’s in the box?” Michael asks curiously, blatantly ignoring Luke’s distress that he found it in the first place.
It seems pointless to hide the kittens any longer. “I wanted to surprise you.” He mumbles, getting to his feet and carefully lifting the box. “I know how much you’ve always wanted us to have a pet. I finally found the perfect ones…”
Michael steps closer and peers inside the box. His green eyes light up with excitement as he lifts them to meet Luke’s gaze “Kittens?” He gasps.
“Our kittens.” Luke corrects, smiling proudly. “I saw that a local cat shelter was trying to rehome a litter and they were struggling with these two because people are still suspicious of black cats. I saw the photo of them and fell in love, I knew you would as well.”
Michael nods in agreement. “They’re perfect!” He exclaims, “Can I please hold them?”
Laughing at the way his boyfriend instantly turns into an excited child at the sight of his new pets, Luke places the box down on the little breakfast table and carefully picks up one of the kittens. “This one has a tiny little smudge of white on her nose.” He points out, handing her to Michael.
The older man holds the kitten close to his chest, looking down at her like she’s the most precious thing in the world. Luke’s heart is already overflowing with love as he reaches into the box to bring out the second kitten. “This one is the tiniest of the whole litter.” He explains. “Isn’t she gorgeous?”
Michael holds out his free hand to take the other kitten, immediately holding her close and making kissing noises at her and her sister. “They both are.” He replies, “They’re the perfect little additions to our family.”
Seeing his boyfriend turn to mush over the kittens only makes Luke fall in love with Michael even more, something he thought was impossible. “Why don’t you take them into the living room and start thinking of names? I’ll be there in just a second.”
Michael glances up to give Luke the softest smile that’s ever graced his face. “They’re perfect Luke, thank you.”
Luke returns the gesture. “That’s why they were meant to be yours.” He replies, not even caring about how sappy he sounds.
Blushing, Michael returns his attention to the kittens in his arms “I think Daddy Luke is turning soft in his old age.”

Can you write 'Are you really taking their side right now?' as a muke please? Thanks!!
Thursday nights had traditionally been movie night since they were in high school. Luke had had to miss a few recently due to general life stuff getting in the way but tonight would be his triumphant return and he’d been looking forward to it all day. The excitement had quickly dissipated though, when he’d walked into his boyfriend’s apartment to find him arguing relentlessly with their two best friends about everything from their choice of snacks to the fact that Ashton was taking up more than his fair share of the sofa.
Michael often had petty outbursts like this, but Luke wasn’t having any of it, not tonight! “This isn’t the warm welcome back I’d expected…” he pouted, looking each of the boys in the eye one after another, his hands firmly placed on his hips.
“Your boyfriend’s being a whiney little bitch!” Calum huffed, shoving Michael’s arm to emphasise his point.
Luke rolled his eyes. Despite being the youngest of the group, he really seemed to take on a parental role often enough.
“I am not!” Michael protested, shoving Calum right back. “They brought snacks that they know I hate on purpose!”
“Since when have you hated m&m’s and popcorn?” Ashton huffed, gesturing to the array of confectionary on the coffee table.
Michael screwed up his face in distaste “well I just like the peanut m&m’s better and that brand of popcorn sucks!”
“Then go and buy your own snacks, you ungrateful little shit!” Ashton retaliated “I brought those out of the goodness…”
“Oh yeah… really thoughtful of you to grab two shitty bags of snacks on your two minute walk over here…” Michael interrupted.
“Come on, guys…” Luke whined “don’t fight, its movie night!”
“Then tell your moody other half to lighten up and stop being such a baby!” Ashton said irritably.
“I’m sure he’ll lighten up now I’m here anyway…” Luke smiled, leaning down to place a kiss to Michael’s pouting lips “come on, budge up…” he added as he pulled away and squeezed himself onto the sofa between his boyfriend and Calum, although he ended up mostly on Michael’s lap.
“Oh great, now we have even less room…” Calum complained, shuffling uncomfortably in his seat towards the armrest.
Michael huffed, wrapping an arm protectively around Luke before looking past him to Calum “Now who’s being a whiney little shit?!”
“Still you!” Ashton sniped, deliberately elbowing Michael to shove him back a little.
“Ow! Ashton, you dick…” Michael complained “keep your boney elbows to yourself…”
Luke sighed despairingly and decided to cut into the argument before the night was well and truly ruined “guys!” He snapped “come on… don’t ruin movie night…” he pouted “I’ve been looking forward to this all day…”
The other three boys fell silent and stopped pushing at each other. Ashton and Calum mumbled a vague apology to Luke before all eyes rested expectantly on Michael, who slumped against Luke, frowning like a child that had just been told off by his parents “fine… I’m sorry!” He pouted, burrowing his head into the crook of Luke’s neck “but it’s not my fault that Ashton’s choice of snacks is stupid…”
“To be fair, babe…” Luke giggled, kissing the top of Michael’s head affectionately “That’s the same brand of popcorn we’ve had on movie night since forever and you’ve never complained about regular m&m’s before…” he kept his voice light in an attempt to keep Michael’s mood heading in the right direction at the same time as pleasing his two best friends.
“Are you really taking their side right now?” Michael asked, a hint of a smirk in his voice.
Before Luke could reply, Ashton and Calum simultaneously wrapped an arm around the snuggling couple forming a tight group hug. “Of course he is…” Calum chuckled, patting Michael’s shoulder affectionately “because you’re an idiot…”
Michael looked up long enough to glare at Calum and give him the finger before returning his head to its previous position on Luke’s shoulder “are you really going to let them talk to me like this, Lukey?” He asked in a teasing voice.
Luke kissed the top of Michael’s head gently, his fluffy bleached blonde hair tickling the younger boy’s nose. “Of course not baby, I’ll go and get you some peanut m&m’s if you want…”
Michael tightened his grip around Luke and shook his head “I’d rather have the boring plain ones if it means you missing another a moment of movie night…”
Luke giggled into Michael’s hair “you big sap…” he mumbled before his boyfriend shifted slightly and caught his lips in a gentle kiss. The younger boy sank into it, ignoring Ashton’s and Calum’s verbal protests.
“Fine!” Ashton huffed, jumping to his feet “come on, Cal! We’ll go and buy some peanut m&m’s but you two better not be naked when we get back!”
Luke separated his lips from Michael’s long enough to mumble “no promises…” before he was promptly pinned to Calum’s recently vacated seat.
(This didn’t turn out as well as I’d have liked but I hope it’s okay)
