We summited Mt. Whitney, the highest point in the lower 48 states at 14,508 feet. It was an extra side trip off the PCT, about 5-6 hours each way. We left at midnight and made it up just before sunrise around 5:30 AM. Honestly, it was a HARD hike. Going down took even longer than going up, and I’ll admit that I did eat shit on the way down and cried some tears (tired, cold, hurty, emotional exhaustion tears. My first trail cry!)
