The last week or so I’ve been in Germany for @memur_festival painting, and meeting some of my favourite artists! This was a festival of about 20 artists, and the theme was to choose a subject that has been in the media the last 12 months. My piece was based on an animal welfare law that was passed in the UK, that now recognises decapods and cephalopods (such as squid, octopus, lobster and crabs) as sentient creatures and states they need to be treated ethically. My piece reflects a relationship between the human and octopus and the love and support with a piggyback. Thanks so much to @vonzeberg and the team for managing everything and making it a sick event.
