Carol is just very bold but also very sweet and awesome and amazing and kind and beautiful and- yeah, we get it, mars.

but i like to think that they're the type of couple to go into a space alone, come out, Ken is covered in obvious lipstick marks all over his face, and just looks like he's in heaven, and Carol is just very nonchalant, and appears to be wearing that exact shade of lipstick that ken has on his face. hm. i wonder why/sarc

anyways, i don't see a lot of works or posts about the davidsons and i actually do love them and they're my parents now(still love you too @the-ted-spankoffski-69) and i just wanted to show my appreciation for this very un-appreciated couple.

ILOVE THE WAY SHE LIKE . okay . okay i was upseT at first theyv changed her calling carol scene and i was like "oh darn wtf i hate this new version" but then her vagually getting lucidity on the desk was SO COOL AUFHGHGHGHGHHHH .like . one of the things i love so much about the original was the fact that she like seemed to genuinely forget what she wanted to say on the call and was in despair. i liked it bc it felt to me like watching her fully loose her mind to the infection, like it .like fully grabbed her right at the end there and she died on screen

Hello! I absolutely do and absolutely way too many. I'm putting the original opener I had for this ask under the cut because it goes more into depth as to why I post about my Big Davidson thoughts a bit less and instead focusing on the body of this post to headcanons that I won't have time to get to elsewhere:

I like the idea that he's a big art nerd. Like he'll spend his vacation days going to art museums, seeing installations, I think he has his favorites for sure (I think he really likes sculptures, for instance) but I think he has a lot of very wide and varied tastes across all mediums and styles. He'd go to experimental art performances down under the bridge or in the woods the same as he'd go to someplace in the city center.

I think he likes strawberry stuff a lot. Not just food and drink which I also think he's a sucker for, but I think he has like a big hand-sized strawberry eraser in his desk drawer. Strawberry notepads at home. Strawberry gum in his pockets. Strawberry stress ball. I think Charlotte showed him a big strawberry plushie once cause I think she's the only other person who knows he really likes them and he had to play it so cool in front of her and immediately bought one that day... it's still in it's box. he can't bring himself to open it.

I personally headcanon that he wears contrast collar shirts because he keeps ripping the collars and cuffs for various reasons (extracurricular or otherwise) and it's easier to have those be something he could have a tailor just grab another set of white cuffs off a cheap shirt, than replace the whole thing.

I headcanon that Davidson has really bad time-blindness. I have no source for this but I adore it so much. He could spend all day at the office and not notice the time flying by, or see the skies darken in his office and fully think its closing time not realizing it's just clouds rolling in. I love the idea that it's also a factor in why he keeps his office so in routine, that it's so he doesn't lose track of the time either. I think he has ten million alarms on his computer and phone and laptop (cause I do think he doesn't know how to reset them or change them around every time and just keeps making new ones for everything) and I think he has back up watches in his coat, suit, and briefcase in case he forgets the one on his wrist. Every clock and watch he owns is slightly off though, one's a few seconds ahead, one runs slow, one hasn't been wound in a While, and one's had the batteries out of it for a bit and he just hasn't noticed.

I think he has a little worldbuilding project in the back of his mind he's been working on for so so long now and will never make it known to anyone ever. Maybe anonymously, but never under his own name. He'd sooner die than admit that it's his. He'll wait until his wife is away for work and spend his vacation days during those days too talking to himself and writing things in journals he keeps stuffed away in attic boxes. He feels guilty he can't share it with her, but his shame wouldn't allow it even if he wanted to.

I think he was raised religious enough that it had a lasting effect on his mind, but not enough where he thought too critically about anything else the church he was in was teaching him. To me? Catholic. I think once he turned 18 he left whatever faith he grew up with, but never reconciled his thoughts on their values and just had this eternal gnawing guilt about it till a decent bit after marrying his wife. And I do think she is truly is perfect and wonderful and kind, I think she's a wonderful partner to him, the platonic ideal of a modern wife. And he realized something was still wrong in spite of having that idealized perfection. And now he's stuck realizing he fell right back into the hole he tried to escape, even if he's not religious now, it's still the same hole, just painted a different color.
