Upset wouldnât exactly be the first word to come to Maximâs mind to describe how he was feeling at this very moment. Pissed. Confused. Irked. Utterly infuriated. A bit of each?
What made it even worse, was that he had nobody else to blame other than himself.Â
It was his own fault that he accidentally left his phone somewhere and has now been unable to locate it for the past weeks. The feeling of the device in his pocket was not natural to him and he was still too unfamiliar with it to miss it whenever he didnât have it on him. In fact, the demigod was unsure if he would ever develop a habit to note its absence.Â
Maybe this time he would. If only to avoid the useless talk with the store clerk of the shopâtoo focused on littering his pitch with buzzwords to notice that the demigod had no clue what he was talking about. All he wanted was a phone. He didnât need it to be pretty, he didnât need it to be fast or any of the fancy words the seller was listing as he described every feature on this plastic covered piece of electronic that was conveniently right out of Maximâs price range.Â
By now, the demigod grew bored with saying, over and over again, that he just required it to make calls and send messages to his siblings. The camera was an extra he had no interest in, the social media platforms failed to capture his attention enough to sign up, and games were a luxury he didnât want to spend his time on.Â
âLook,â he stopped listening ages ago and now cut off the otherâs introduction to some new app that would allow him to track his location and vitals, âI just want it to make phone calls. I donât care about this. Isnât there any cheaper option than this?âÂ
He would never admit it but it embarrassed him that he knew little enough about the product to accept this overpriced piece of plastic if the answer would be a âNo.âÂ
