“He used his MPC like Jimi Hendrix played guitar or John Coltrane played the saxophone. It was an extension of himself. That’s probably why out of all the MPCs used by countless hip hop producers and beat makers over the years, J Dilla’s is in a museum.” - Brian “Radar” Ellis

Some studio shots from early last year. The MPC 3000 had been in storage for over 15 years and I thought I would have to relearn it, but upon switching it on the muscle memory was still there, like riding a bike again - a testament to the the user interface and design concepts of Roger Linn.
I bought the COTK Ensemble Generator module on a whim a few years back but only just got round to installing it. The ensemble effect is noisy (not always a bad thing!) but what I like most is overdriving the module's input stage to add a nice bit of colour to certain signals.
