Hirosaki Castle, 40 km southwest of Aomori, Japan, was originally built in 1611, then burned after being struck by lightning in 1627. Rebuilt in 1810, the three-story tower retains an air of the samurai era. Mount Iwaki is visible from the castle.

岩木山の影が空に映り、山並みが二重に見える珍しい光景を、青森県弘前市葛原の農業田村眞裕美さん（59）が写真に収めた。青森地方気象台によると、沈みかけている夕日が岩木山の向こう側から山を照らし、上空にある薄い雲や漂っているちり、煙などがスクリーンのようになり、山の影を投影したと考え

　青森地方気象台によると、沈みかけている夕日が岩木山の向こう側から山を照らし、上空にある薄い雲や漂っているちり、煙などがスクリーンのようになり、山の影を投影したと考えられるという。ときに富士山などでも観察され「二重富士現象」と呼ばれている。

　撮影したのは部分日食が見られた6月21日の夕刻。自宅近くの畑で、自身が主宰する農業塾の塾生たちと日食を観察した後の午後6時35分ごろからで、影は中央部を中心にどんどん高く伸びていったという。

　田村さんはスマートフォンで撮影した写真や動画を見返しながら「岩木地区に長年暮らしているが、あんな幻想的な光景はこれまで見たことがなかった。まさに自然のプレゼント」とにっこり。「あの日は太陽の周りに日傘も見られたし、大安で父の日でもあった。いいことが重なった一日だった」と喜んでいた。
