In the landscaping of this public space a small tree had been included, Sorbus ‘Flanrock’ (rowan, mountain ash, Autumn Spire), this has a columnar habit. The foliage turns purple, red and yellow in the autumn which contrasts with the masses of yellow berries with red centres that follow the white flowers of summer.

Okay, now I know nobody probably cares about this as much as I do, but I had to share. In the first book, it is mentioned by Feyre that wood from the mountain ash can harm a faerie. Ash wood. Except, mountain ash trees aren't true ash trees. Mountain ash belongs to the genus Sorbus, and is in the Rose family. It is also commonly referred to as rowan. Whereas, true ash trees belong to the genus Fraxinus, and are in the olive and lilac family.
I bring this up, because one, I love plants and ecology. Two, if when the narrative mentions ash wood being harmful to the fae, they are actually referring to mountain ash/rowan, then I am going to assume that ash wood from a true ash tree would not harm them. Three, rowan is also the name of a fae male in Sarah's other series, Throne of Glass, and has ties to real life cultures, such as Celtic and Norse mythologies.
Mountain ash/rowan is said to ward off evil spirits and witches, which has interesting implications if you read Throne of Glass, considering that Rowan helps Aelin to fight against the Ironteeth Witches, the Valg, and more malicious entities.
