I’ve vaguely known about Moulin Rouge for the last couple of years. I’ve heard some of the songs from it like “Come What May” and “Lady Marmalade.” It wasn’t until I saw the Musical adaptation perform on the Macy’s Thanksgiving 🦃 Parade that it started to pique my interest. With it being one of the Broadway shows 🎭 widely featured when Broadway returned in 2021, I decided to finally look into it and within less than 2 days I was sucked in. When my family planned our trip to New York 🗽 in December 2022, this was my chance to see it live on stage. Being a Jukebox Musical 🎶, there are a lot of familiar songs woven into it and it’s rather fun to see how many you can identify. Everyone in the cast did an amazing job, but I want to give a shoutout to two performers in particular. The first is Derek Klena as Christian who I have known about since 2017 for his work in Anastasia. Seeing him with my family was slightly amusing for me because while I know him for his work in theater, they know him from The Hallmark Movie 🎥 “A Holiday Spectacular” with Ginna Claire Mason. 🎄 The second is Eric Anderson as Harold Zidler. If you ever need an example of what I call a “Chameleon Actor,” Eric is your guy. From “Waitress” to “Pretty Woman” and now “Moulin Rouge,” his ability to alter not just his appearance, but also his voice is astounding. Overall, despite only truly knowing about Moulin Rouge for a little over a year now, it has become one of my favorite musicals and if you are a fan of the original film, jukebox musicals, or just theater in general, I would highly recommend checking this musical out. 👍 #moulinrouge #broadway #moulinrougebroadway #musicals #moulinrougemusical #newyork #photos #derekklena #oyoyojoi #ericanderson #sahrngaujah #jessicaleegoldyn #raulcontreras #declanbennett #satine #haroldzidler https://www.instagram.com/p/CrlhJfLut0H/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
